Hi Weemee, I have heard this exact statement from others with acid reflux. One person told me at night they taste a combination of mucous and acid choking them. I can imagine it would be hard to breath when this happens for many different reasons. Have you propped yourself up at night either by wedge or other means? I find that if I stray from the low acid diet my mouth salavates at night sometimes keeping me up. Also, recently I discovered a slow release calcium carbonate product that works wonders for me. It dissolves slowly in a 9 hour span and eliminates my night time issues, but diet is #1 for me. Also, start your night sleeping on your left side and if possible stay in that position. I can't do it all night, but I start out that way for several hours. It has helped.
