Symptoms you describe can sometimes be due to extra-oesophageal reflux aspirating into the respiratory system. The cricopharyngeal muscle tightens in an attempt to prevent it. More usually felt as a lump in the throat, it can give the sensation of being being short of breath.

But do discuss it with a doctor in case there's some other problem.

Yes, I had them for over a year.  Well, at least that is what my GI thinks based on my testings. I feel the pressure on the middle upper chest which runs all the way up to my nose sometimes but normally up to my throat. I believe anxiety kicks in when it gets bad and that is why it goes up to my nose.  Reflux can get stock behind your throat, ribs and lungs so I have an appointment with my ENT this week so hopefully they can run a Laryngoscopy and tell me if that is the problem.

Yes and I have sinus pain too once in awhile,

Try to get a dehumidifier and it will help,

Or even get one of those nasal flush for your nose

Hi I had breathing probs with chronic reflux,it's calmed down a bit after 6 months of meds. The acid aspirated into my lungs and ended up with an inhaler and antibiotics. Had an endoscopy came back clear, just had a lot of bile stained fluid which they removed.

For last couple of months had probs with ears, nose, throat and breathing. My ears are constantly blocked, can feel there pressure build then chest goes tight and t feel breathless. Told my doctor twice but said It was wax. I m also have Pernotious Anaemia needing b12 every three months and folic acid for life. Just been told I m deficient in Vit D. All my health probs have caused anxiety and depression. I have always knew my ears were due to reflux, but my doc has never made connection.

I have an appointment today and requesting to see ENT as I have it constantly and really finding it hard to just get through the day. Thanks any advice would be appreciated Sharon xx

Forgot to add, in my case my Doctors disregarded that is ending on my lungs becuase I have done 5 Asthma/COPD test and they came out clear. He said if it was stock behind my lungs I would have Asthma which I don't. I even took medication for Asthma and COPD for 30 days and did nothng for me so now they are going to get behind my throat with a Laryngoscopy.  I also have problems breathing which could be a reaction (anxiety) to the pressure/heaviness on the midddle of my chest.  I see many speciallies and on the aveage 2-3 monthly and I always ask them to check my lungs and Oxygen/blood level which is always 97/98.  I highly suggest you get your ENT to run a Laryngoscopy.  It's a pretty simple test ( 1-2 of them can be done at the Dcotors office) unless you want a direct Laryngoscopy which the prodecures is similar to an endoscopy.
