Hello Rocca,  i have tried Acupunture for pain in the facet joints and it didn't help. Everybody is different and what may work for one doesn't always work for another. Is the Acupunture on the NHS, if so it's worth trying.  If your paying private ring and have a chat first to see weather they think you may have a chance of it working.  Acupunturists will take  a history of your medical and medications your taking.  See if you get any more answers on here. Its like everything it may work or it may not. Sorry i can not be more helpful.  I did have Acupunture privetly for 8 years for another medical problem and it helped and it is good for reviving energy.

Hi, I have had acupuncture in the past , amonst other problems with my facet joints and 3 bulging discs and irritated nerves down legs/through hips I have also been told there was some involvement with SI joints and nerves too. I went to acupuncture years ago when first started to a very well recognised chap in Sheffield and paid myself, it worked wonders. I have had some since then though to lesser effect. I think it can depend on the patient/ how bad it is and also who is doing it. I had 3 sessions on the NHS last year and my back retaliated so much they didn't want to pursue any more ! I am currently waiting to see if I am a candidtae for deep spinal cord stimulation where they plave electrodes in the epidural space in the spine, permanently, if it works - we will see. They cannot / will not operate on me and days in bed are too many at 41 years of age, so I am willing to look at any options tbh. Worth a try, the worse I had with acupuncture last time was my back going into spasm and nerve down leg got v irritated - just ask round to see who's best in your area first I would say, the practitioner has a big role to play I think too.
