I know people who find it so hard to come off psychiatric drugs. Drs don't warn of withdrawal problems and unlike illegal drugs there is no help. Nowhere to go and detox unless you pay, no one to actually understand these withdrawal symptoms which often leave one feeling much worse than before. There should be stricter prescribing and more help to taper off.

    I can't agree with you more. My psychiatrist and my GP both totally underestimate the time needed to withdraw from some of these medications. Not only does that leave me feeling physically ill with some awful withdrawal symptoms but also makes me feel like I'm a failure or weak for complaining.

    Thank goodness for places like this where we can at least support each other.
