    Hi Jardine

Good luck for tomorrow although you won't need it, you will be fine.  I will be thinking of you.  Let me know how you get on, when you can.

It is terrific when you are first, lots of bustle with no time for nerves, I was very lucky to be second, which was almost as good.

Don't ever be sorry about voicing your concerns and worries, that is why most of us ended up here, to be with people that understand and also have wonderful tips and advice to help you through.  It is lovely to get the support from everyone.

Stay as calm as you can, it helps the healing.  Don't forget your oil of peppermint works wonders for the gas pain.  Take care.

      Hi Jardine

It is great you are off the morphine.  Have they said when you can come home yet?  Have you had any problems with the gas pain at all?

Isn't it wonderful when it is all over and all you have to do is get on with your recovery plan.  It is so so stressful waiting for the op.  You will now be able to enjoy the summer.

I won't Hun I'm feeling okay just in a bit of pain got my hubby looking after me. I'm back now forgot cushion so every bump I could feel in car was quite painful. But the surgeon is very pleased with me have to go back in four weeks have dissolvable stitches in I'm just amazed all the worrying I did and panicking thinking all sorts with my asthma. But I'm so happy to be home now did think it was a bit early to let me out but I'm okay with it now. Just need to take plenty of rest ready for my holiday in 6 weeks to Cornwall as long as we stop regular should be okay I've been told. My dear mom is going to miss me for a few weeks as I'm normally that busy caring for everyone it's my turn now. Xxxx

      Welcome Home!

I can't believe that you have had it done and are home.Take it easy and have an early night and don't forget to get your husband to bring you breakfast in bed in the morning  along with your medication. My Dad used to bring it up on a tray every morning for about 3 or 4 days.I came out of hospital with 16 tablets to take a day so I did a daily list to keep a record of what to take and when and I ticked them off as I took them.I have been out visiting my Mum today.Ihave felt ok.

Well done again and enjoy all the pampering.

I know it's crazy I went in yesterday really has surprised me I don't know if it's because it's a private hospital but did think it was a bit quick as I thought I would be in their until Monday nurse said Tom then surgeon discharged me today. Didn't even have to wait long for meds about 30 mins. That hospital is run like clockwork great surgeon though. My hubby and son think I should have been kept in longer but I'm okay just in pain when I get up off garden chair have put cushion under, which makes it a little easier. Didn't get any sleep last night so at least I will sleep in my own bed tonight just hope I get some sleep. They have given me lactose for my bowels so will start taking that Tom. Xxxx

i will leave you in peace now, hopefully you have had something to eat.

      Goodnight,sleep tight.

Good to hear you are home, take it easy I had to spend th day in bed yesterday as  think I had done too much over the last few days, really sore and painful and felt rough. I think you rest better when you are at home in your own bed and family are looking after you. Teresa is right i get stiff after a while so I just take a short walk round the garden, I went to the local supermarket (10 min drive) with my husbad twice last week and I think that was too much so he has gone on his own today. How is your appitite mine is not the sameas it as before I went in Im hardly eating !! xx

Take care, rest and dont do anythng !! xxx

After surgery on Friday I couldn't eat anything had light lunch before leaving hospital yesterday and a sandwich for supper last night. To be honest I'm not at all hungry which is unlike me as I do love my food I feel weak. I am drinking loads of fluids though. My hubby is cooking lunch later just hope I can eat some. The pain is slightly better then yesterday it hurts when I stand up but the do advise you to have good posture. I might go downstairs later for an hour depends how I feel I am moving around upstairs gentle exercising to prevent the blood clots. Hope your feeling okay? Xxx

      Hello my dear friend,

Hope your day has been ok?

I went to see my doctor this morning and everything is great,She is really pleased so far with my recovery.I found out that I am no longer anaemic so I can stop the iron tablets.I told her that I couldn't feel the hernia any more but even though it wouldn't of disappeared we are wondering if the fibroid was pushing against it which made it protrude more. She is going to monitor it especially when I return to work.I also discussed HRT as I told her I felt that I didn't need it especially feeling the way I do.She told me that you can go with out it as long as need be but younger people need to worry about their bones because of osteoporosis but I am in the age that is ok.I have to see her in a month but when I told her that I am signed off for 8 weeks she feels at the moment that will be long enough.I would like another 3weeks to take me to my holiday. It is still early days.Popped into work to give them a thank you card as I received some flowers on Fri.I saw my line manager and that was the first time I had seen him since my op.He said I looked great and then said that I hadn't missed much but they were short staffed.Went to town to meet a colleague for a coffee.(No I didn't have cake)I am going out tomorrow for a pub lunch with another colleague and on Fri I am having one of my regular customers round for a cup of tea and guess what(she is bringing a cake)She is a Greek lady who I have known for a long time and we always buy each other presents for birthdays and Xmas. This operation has not been so bad after all especially as I haven't lost my appetite.I woke up this morning with quite a bit of pain across the top of my stomach and I must say that my bowels are not working properly yet and I took 2 sachets of Movicol yesterday. The pain eased of again later.I am nice and snug laying on the settee with my fleecy throw over me.I still don't feel tired but I am worried as 1 day soon I am going to have a bad day and won't know what hit me.

      Lots of love

      Teresa

      Hi Hun

Got up this morning and got dressed okay still in pain but getting easier each  day haven't been to the loo as yet 3 days post op not to worried, I have eaten more today then yesterday feel a bit stronger then I did. Will go out Tom to the supermarket just to get out. Talking about cake I had a piece of Victoria sponge today and I loved it.

My fibroids were pressing on my bladder and bowel causing me the problems don't know a lot about hernia but I have been told they are painful and cause loads of problems do hope you can get the time off from work shouldn't be a problem as you will need it such a big op some people thought I had a vaginal hysterectomy being as my stay was so short they couldn't believe I had a abdominal.

last night I felt more comfortable in bed I lay on my side still needed to get up every few hours I told the nurses and doctors about this forum they were impressed I didn't have the chance to chat to anyone as the hospital was like a hotel once the door was closed the only people I saw were hubby, son, nurses carnt say I felt isolated as I wasn't in their long enough to.

Tom is a new day and I'm getting better and better, you are doing amazingly well and still rem to take it easy your motivation is tremendous and I'm right behind ya talk to ya Tom my friend.

      Love Venessa. Xxx
