Am I being under treated for hypothyroidism?

Hi guys

Quick history I had thyroid cancer 10 years ago and been taking levothyroxine ever since.

Recent blood tests show TSH at 33.48 and Free T4 at 15.3 are these showing I am not taking enough thyroxine replacement?

I am feeling very tired, lacking motivation, memory problems and my skin is so dry, I'm only 30 and trying for a baby but no luck my periods are irregular too ;(

Any help or advice would be great.

Merry Xmas all wink

Not sure they reduced it by 50 a day without telling me months ago when I requested my repeat and slowly I've been feeling worse.

I have had to ask for the blood test as they haven't requested to check what they changed but I had a feeling it was wrong

N my tsh is now under 1 what a difference!  I never had cancer but your tsh needs to be suppressed anyhow! Your doctor does not know howto treat thyroud disorders please see another!

    Hi Blackwater

No wonder you feel ill, those results are not good!

    Dosage seems too low!

TSH should be nearer 3.0 or lower and free T4 in the 20's

Are you taking calcium or iron supplements?!...these can stop

thyroid meds from working properly also levo is best taken

on empty stomach first thing an hour before eating if possible!

Take other meds 4hours later if possible

    Hope this helpsbiggrin

I take folic acid currently and do so at the same time, maybe I should space those apart?

Would you consider my levels a little low or very!?

Heading back to the doctors next week to discuss changes had to wait ages for the appt ;(

Personally I think my needs have been lowered by mistake as I have to see a new doc each appt!!
