Amlodipine almost killed me

Hi everyone.

Ive been on BP med since 2012. Early Nov 2017 I started having some chest pains. I went to see my GP on the 16th Nov 2017, we did CT scan and did some blood test for my heart and everything was clear but my BP was high so he prescribed me pendine 5mg (Amlodipine) but I was taking 2.5mg and also some meds for acid reflux. Within a week on amlo I had heart palpitations, extreme fatigue, anxiety, depressed, muscle pains, muscle twitching, blurred vision , stiff neck and joint pains. It was terrible and at that time i didnt even think it was amlo. I just thought Im sick. I went to the ER twice thinking Im having a heart attack and everything way clear. 2 months down the line i was still sick and still didnt think it was amlo till I went on site and looked for Amlo side effects and everything that I had was there and then I started looking for reviews and I found this site. I was so relieved to learn that Im not the only one. I went back to my GP and he didnt think it was Amlo, but I insisted and he took me off on the 16th Jan 2018 and put me on BB. Most of the side effects have subsided but i still fill sick some other days. My right shoulder and chest gets very sore like ive been lifting something very heavy. my muscles twitch sometimes and this past weekend i could not sleep due to heart palpitations and Ive been having pains there and there. I just wish to know when am I gonna be fully recovered from Amlo. These meds nearly killed me, Im still scared and dont know what to do.

Hi My gp put me on amlodipine in 2016, after 6 weeks I developed palpitations and erratic hear beats. I came off the amlodipine but the problems continued. After internet searches I started taking magnesium citrate the palpitations and ectopic heat beats stopped after about 6 weeks. Check out sanj Gupta on utube.

    I hope this helps.

Hi Baz. Thanks for the reply. Im on slow mag and the palpitations were gone. They just came back on Saturday night and I could sleep at all. I dont know what was happening to me. I was sweating as well. I will definitely checkout Sanj Gupta on YouTube.
