Hi Everyone,
Had to start another new page as I couldn`t find the one Di started.
Hope this finds everyone ok.
Well thats the heart monitor thang done and dusted. Went back to hospital yesterday to get it removed. The results will be sent to rheumatology, so I won`t find out anything til my appointment in April.
Back to work 2moro...boo hoo... can`t complain, 1 day then the weekend. Ive really enjoyed my wee break. We`ve booked our wedding day...woohoo! So ding dong the bells will chime on 18th Sept, 2010. Having the whole thing in one of the local hotels....got a great deal, I was most surprised. Booked the registrar as well....which is helpful as we need him/her to marry us in the hotel.. Wouldn`t that be a calamity - everything booked and no registrar...dear lord! So all in all, its been quite a productive week. Oh, and we bought a new telly as the poor soul in the corner of the living room is on its last legs. That should get delivered next week.
TESS and SES, hope u are both ok and not in too much pain.
DI and LINDA, hope u are both ok and that your husbands are feeling a bit better.
Take Care All

You have quite a wait to get the results of your heart monitor test, hope all is well. Don`t work too hard tomorrow! We have social services coming tomorrow afternoon to carry out a sensory impaired assessment for Ray, so I`m hoping we might get some help from that, just practical things really like hadrails to help him get outside and some kind of help for both of when showering etc. They should also be doing a carers assessment for me. Anyway you probably know more about these things than me so hope I`m not expecting too much!
Tess have a lovely weekend, you make me quite jealous, we haven`t had a holiday for 10 yrs as Ray won`t stay anywhere not even for a night! So make the most of it!
Ses hope you are ok too, and coming to terms with your new diagnosis. How long do you have to wait for anymore tests or new meds etc??
Di hope you and John are coping ok, try to rest and take one step at a time. I`m a fine one to talk always trying to do too much! lol
Take care all, Love Linda

Sorry Lindy also congrats on booking your Wedding for next year. You must be really excited. I have been married 30 years on 28 July! Thats quite a long time as Stewart said you get less for murder! Bless him I know hes only joking! Stewart's last night until next week when he will be on nights over the weekend from Fri,Sat, Sun.
Well must go as got lot more things to do before bed and feel shattered now.
Everyone take care and catch up when I get back.

I have had a break due to unforeseen circumstances which I cannot go into detail but it was fairly disturbing and so here I am xxxx I am back xxxx
Well Linda it will soon come round to get your diagnosis hun!!!! make sure though all blood work is ok too as if it isn't, then I would question what they mean etc, but I am sure you would anyway hun xxxxx and CONGRATS to your wedding plans xxxx :cracker: I loved all the organizing of my wedding we have been together 5 years this year and married four!!!! and it seems like yesterday!!!! happy organizing anyway hun xxxx Hope you are ok?
Hi Linda, how did the assessment go??? are the Social services going to help as required? I guess they will do xxx I do hope you are getting some rest too hun xxxxx and at least with new adjustments things will be a bit easier?? Hoping that Ray is managing too xxxx I hope you pain is manageable too, and you are resting when you can hun? xxxx
Tess, that is so nice to hear you have been married for that long, it is such an achievement in this day and age xxxx How have you been?, I hope the OA hasn't been causing to much bother, so you are able to enjoy the time with Stewart while he is off work??? I hope you have been keeping out of this dreadful weather xxxx and hoping you are enjoying the time with the grand children xx.
Hi Di, I would go to the GP hun and explain your thoughts, as the right medication can slow some processes down with certain ailments/illnesses and so I would seek advice hun if you are worried,as why suffer in silence? It may be the case at the moment you are run down too with the fibro and looking after your hubby as fatigue can enhance all sorts of symptoms too? Please seek medical advice hun and put your mind at rest xxxxx I guess you are not resting very well? I hope you are getting some rest at least????I hope your hubby is coping ok too xx
Anyway my dear friends...... seems strange...... popped up in here now after being out for a while!!!! I have been in a lot of pain and my knees and ankles swell now and burn and I generally feeling drained so absolute nightmare........I had my ultrasound done, and I think it was ok, I've had further blood work done but I do not see the Rhuemotologist now until June so I have to wait to see what treatment I need, however, I am off to see the GP this week so I am hoping he has some word of what is going on????
Take care everyone and hugs to you all xxxxxx I hope you all are managing the best way you all can xxxx

Is anyone else having slight probs with the forum? Sometimes I can`t find posts... :?
SES, nice to see u back. I hope things have settled down for u. Sorry to here ur in such pain, I hope the GP has some news that can at least identify something to ease ur discomfort.
TESS, I hope ur weekend has went well, and that uve not had the same weather as we`ve had. Was pouring with rain yesterday....woke up this morning and its snowing again! As my dad used to say..\"never cast a cloot (cloth), til May is oot\"... which means, u can`t be sure of the weather til after May, but I could never quite fathom what the cloot had to do with it.. :D
DI, so sorry to hear the news about ur Auntie. I can understand ur worry, I would be the same, but try not to as that will just stress u out to the hilt. Is it snowing over ur way today?
LINDA, I hope the assessment went ok and u get some positive results from it. Would sure make life a tad easier for u and Ray. Fingers are crossed for u.
It is quite exciting making all the wedding plans, but boy, it does pickle ur brain box. Was working out seating arrangements, evening guest lists etc etc. Looking at bridesmaid and flowergirl dresses online, found some lovely ones that don`t break the bank. It seems ages away, but as we all know...before we know it, time comes up and bites u on the backside.. So, better being organised.
I never mentioned in my last post that Ian`s bought me a new car for mother`s day. Hopefully it`ll be delivered to the garage next week, so once Ive seen it and made sure its def what I want, its full steam ahead and should get it the following week. Im so excited, can`t wait to get it.
Take Care Everyone
Catch up soon.

Ses good to have you back, sorry you`ve had probs hope all is well now. It`s a long time until June so hope GP has some answers for you, maybe he will have heard from hospital and can fill you in on what might happen :!:
Lindy enjoy your wedding plans, it makes things feel so much better if you have something to look forward to. I can beat Tess, we`ve been married 32yrs in may :!: It certainly is a long time, especially when I think back over all that has happened in that time.
Well Sensory assessment went better than I expected, thanks both of you for asking, because the volunteer from CAMSIGHT who visited us a couple of weeks ago warned us that although it was essential to get assessment done they don`t actually do anything :!: Well she has put in an urgent referral to occupational therapy for a stair lift, level access shower and ramps at front and back doors :!: An appointment with a mobility therapist to teach him how to keep himself safe and mobile with his physical disability and sight loss, and a carers assessment for me both as Ray`s carer and Fibro etc. So if all comes out well we should see things get a bit easier. Fingers crossed etc :!:
Have had some sort of virus all week, saw GP on Fri and he said to expect fatigue and stiffness etc to be worse for a while, and that they now know that Fibro makes our immune system weeker so more likely to pick up these bugs :!: Very encouraging, Not :!: So had a lazy weekend, just concentrated on keeping things in the right places so Ray doesn`t find getting around etc too difficult. Eye check up for him tomorrow, then touching wood 11 days with no appointments :!:
Well take care
Love Linda

Well done Linda on beating us with 32 years. I have know Stewart since 1976 so have actually been together 33 years. We met in the warm hot summer of 1976.
Its really good news with Rays assessment and for you both. You deserve it and should have had the help you need sooner. Better late than never! Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Hope all went well with the eye appointment yesterday. Lets hope you get eleven days away from hosp and drs etc.
Good to see you back on Ses. Our weather was not to bad. We were nice and warm in the van as we have an electric blanket for our bed. Inside we have an oil filled radiator and gas fire if we need it. We did have a very windy night with heavy rain on Saturday overnight. Couldn't sleep very well. Don't like the wind. My knees are always swollen and my ankles come and go. Was told it was to do with the OA. Don't get a burning but my knees feel really warm to touch and sometimes red. I hope all goes well when you see gp this week and you get some good news.
Lindy we were lucky didn't get snow like you! Had some heavy rain showers on Sunday but the rest of weekend was sunny and breezy but not too cold. Looking forward to when we can sit outside when away and have a barbecue. What a lovely surprise for you from Ian with your new car. What type of car have you got! I don't drive so won't be requesting a car from Stewart for Mother's Day lol
Di I hope you are coping ok and John is still doing ok!
Take care everyone. Got big pile of ironing to do now.

We`re getting a Kia Sportage. Not a brand new one TESS, couple of years old, with low mileage. As my mam used to say....my a&se is making buttons to get it...

I went to see the Pain Specialist nurse today and she has give me a tens machine so I am hoping this will help the pain....... good though as at least it can be moved around when pain hurts in different areas  I am off to see the doctor tomorrow so we will see if my Rhuemo Consultant has sent a report or not???
Lindy..... I got my pale Gold bridesmaid dresses from Deb**hams in the sale, they were originally one hundred quid but I bought them for forty, and I got my tiara from Deb**hams in the sale.......a third of the price....... flower girls I bought white satin type dresses from a shop in town with bolero jackets which also had a touch of gold stitching which were twenty quid and I bought the dolly bags from a trimmings stall in the market...... five pounds each........ my friends did the flowers, I hired a limousine for fifty quid as it was for an hour and a wedding car turned out to be three times as much...... I hired the the male suits........ My dress was the most expensive part..... four hundred..... I made my own favors as I bought sugar almonds and got the netting from again the trimmings stall in the market, I bought candles and designed them to match the settings of Gold and creme, I even did my table setting for the reception napkins were personalized from Stud*o with personalized table settings..... my list goes on and on...... eb*y is also very good as I bought fortune cookies and these fortune fish that you put in the palm of your hand and it is suppose to tell you things if you ask it a question..... just fun things I put on the tables....... but yes it is a task seating arrangements good luck hun and I do believe that is one of the most stressful things, making sure people are seated with people they actually get on with??? Happy wedding plans xxxx
Oh I am so glad Linda that the assessment went well and they are going to adapt your home ready and safe for your husbands needs, hopefully this will help you too as I guess it is frustrating for your husband not being able to do things and so hopefully you will be able to relax a bit better knowing things will be equipped in your home environment xxxx I hope the eye check up goes ok too hun xxxx
OMG Tess 1976 I was 4  I do remember it being hot that year like you said You say about your knees and ankles swollen, mine get like that too, it is inflammation..... Yeah I get burning and my knees and ankles, wrists swell the pain is unbearable but just got to go with the flow!!!!! I wouldn't be surprised if I have RA, as my Nana had it and with the Rhuemo saying I have an auto-immune Poly arthritis I am thinking this is a possibility??? I do hope you get some relief from your pain xxxx.
Di, how are you? I hope John is ok too? have you been to see the doctor of your concerns? anyway hun I do hope you are coping ok xxxx
Take care everyone and thanks for all your kind words xxxx
Gentle hugs xxxx

Hi Lindy hope your Wedding plans going ok. I bet you are looking forward to getting your new car. Its true these things we have to work hard to pay for. Did you get your paperwork done. I did about an hour of ironing then stopped and sat down watched film with Stewart. We watched \"Amazing Grace\" was about the abolishment of slavery. Good film.
Hope the tens machine is helping you Ses with your pain. I hope you got on ok at the doctors today. You do make me feel old when you say you were only 4 in 1976. I was 20 then and Stewart 18 and i met him at his 18th birthday party. He is my toyboy lol
Well hope everyone else is doing ok today and take care!

Hope tens machine works for you Ses and you get some news from your GP :!: Yes Ses you make me feel old too, I was 24 in 1976 and married a year later :!:
Glad your weekend was good Tess, they say a change is as good as a rest, and I think thats very true.
Well i`m back to thinking how unfair this condition is :!: Ray said this afternoon he thought he might feel like going down to our local shopping centre after tea, its late night shopping tonight. So off we went, I managed from the car park down the escalator and one shop before I was so exhausted and stiff that I had to sit down. Went to one more shop after and then had to give up and come home
Its the first time for about a month that he`s felt like going anywhere and I couldn`t manage to do anything, really felt like crying when we got home, there`s no justice is there :?:
Sorry for the moan, but I needed to tell someone :!: Have council coming on Fri to put a radiator in our toilet to try to stop the damp, so need to take flooring up and shelves down etc, so hoping I feel better in morning :!:
Hope everyone is feeling better than me tonight, take care
Love Linda

Its not fair when you want to do something and go out but get really tired.
Especially with Ray feeling like going out too. Don't be too hard on yourself Linda at least you went out and tried. I know it is frustrating though when you don't achieve these things. You should be proud of yourself for getting out and doing the walking you managed.
Don't worry about having a moan we all do it. My son is moving from Cherry Hinton in about a months time. He is going to live in Nottingham with his fiancee's mum for a while so they can save some money to get married and find there own place. He has just got a job in Nottingham. Went for interview last week but kept getting called back. Had to go three times and on the third time interview in front of managing director. There was only Andrew and another guy. Heard yesterday he got the job! So pleased for him although we will have further to go visit. Have to look for a site near to where he is in Nottingham to stay on. He has done really well with since coming out of Uni with his degree in computing. When he graduated shortly after went for interview for his present job and got it. That was his first ever interview for work. He had been at that job for five years. He was doing computer support work but with his new job will be doing more with programing what he wanted to get to do.
Well feel quite tired today and can't get motivated. A bit of grey day he and my joints are hurting. Feel rain on the way. Had a lovely spring like day with lots of sun yesterday. Why is it the sun makes you feel like doing more.
Hope you are ok Di, Ses & Lindy.

SES, Ive been trolling websites looking at various dresses etc. I know what I want and seen a few in that style. But they ain`t wedding dresses...they`re bridesmaid ones which u can get in a champagne colour! I refuse to pay ridiculous prices for a dress. Its marrying Ian that`s making my day...not some frock costing a grande!! Some of the prices would make ur hair fall out.. Picked my favours for the ladies, 1.80 a pop so thats good, Ian`s picking the guys ones. Ordered samples of my invitations...they`re lovely, and very reasonable for the quality.
I sure hope the tens machine gives u some relief from ur pain, they can be handy.
TESS, thats fantastic news for ur son...well done him. I liked that film also. Paperwork in never ending in my job Tess. U get one load out the way...and another load rears its ugly head.. I can`t wait to get my new car. Not heard from the garage yet to say if its in...so if I don`t hear from them by tomorrow lunch time, I`ll fon to see whats going on. I hoped u`ve had a chilled out day since ur feeling the joints sore. That`ll be ur galavanting at the weekend catching up with u ..
LINDA, hope ur feeling better today. Ray also. Moan all u like. Nothing like a good rant to clear the tubes. Don`t jigger yourself lifting the flooring etc.
DI, sorry ur not feeling too great. I occasionally get the burning sensation on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. Find this more so when Im in bed at night, but its nothing too severe thankfully. I think ur doing the right thing by waiting to see how ur Auntie gets on with her tests. Try not to worry too much. Ive had a wee swatch on the BHS website Di. Im blasting everywhere to see what my choices are. Funny about ur wee dog..
My 2 think they own the couch....one lies at either end. Fergus, in his usual on his back legs akimbo position...and Buster like a big walrus (takes after his mammy.. )
Take Care Everyone
Catch u soon

Good to hear you are getting your pain sorted Di. I hope your new tabs work for you and gives you some relief. Try to remain positive until you know for sure what your Aunts condition is.
Lindy good to hear your getting your wedding plans sorted. Like you say it is not paying lots of money for a dress. The main thing is you are marrying Ian thats what the day is about. Not to say you won't I am sure find the right dress for the ocassion. Think your right about my joints being sore. Probably was all the extra walking we did at the weekend. Was good though. Going away again on 27th-30th March to Lowestoft for my birthday that is on the 29th March. 53 this year and feeling old!
Well need to go and make some lunch now for Stewart and myself. He is on nights for the next three days.
Hope you are ok Ses & Linda.
Take care everyone!
