Anti depressants not working for me?

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hello all. So I have been on several medication in hopes to get my depression and anxiety under control. The pills i took either made me worse or I felt no change at all. I got genetic testing done several weeks ago to see what meds would work and what meds would not. I'm been on a few meds that are supposed to work for me, but I still feel my same depressed self. It gets very tiresome and frustrating. Could it be that none of the pills will give me relief?

My opinion, beside depend on medication, we have to do something that can help to make us feel less depressed. Taking up activities etc make ourselves occupied.

Hi i know it sounds strange but is it possible that that has happened. Try either a non-drug form of treatment mindfulness might help, or less medication 1 by 1 cutting them out or using them, i wish you luck, i hope you sort it out!

Hi it takes up to 4-6 weeks for meds to start helping so I would persevere and give it more time.

Some people are treatment resistant but hopefully you aren't. x

Talk about the reasons. if there still in your life then no form of medication will help - you have to do something about them. If there not then talking about the reasons will remove the effects. Medication will only cover up the symptoms, and there effectiveness will wear off.
