Antihistamines

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have been suffering with bad hay fever this year. GP prescribed Fexofenadine for almost 7 weeks before I decided to stop taking it because I suspect it has worsened my already occasional balance problems due to tinnitus and menieres.

GP then prescribed another one which causes drowsiness. I have now decided to stop taking any antihistamines and see if my balance problems subside.

Anyone here experienced similar problems.

Thanks

hi sikatoga, i think this: the antihistamines are meant to help but i was once offered these antihistamnes and wouldn't take them! i will only take cetrizine for hayfever and tiny tablets called procholperazine for the dizziness. you could ask your chemist they may recommend some none drowsy hayfever tablets. i wish you luck.

I do not think you should stop taking medication completely but take less dosages. If you completely stop taking medication you could experience withdrawal symptoms.
