Yeah get that myself more or less with all appointments. I either listen to music or bring a newspaper so that my mind is distrcted because i normally feel better when ive been through the appointment. If thats the case with yourself feeling better afterwards remembering that thought the next time makes things easier. Constant battle but one given time you will overcome. Distract yourself when going to or waiting on appointment.

So sorry to hear that, I hate when things like this happen. You get all prepared and also nervous and even tho you're dreading it you also want it over with (not sure about you but that's how I feel anyway) so having it postponed and realising you'll have more time to worry about it is just really annoying.

Best for luck for (I guess) next week then!

Hi, anya.rose I just have to wait and see when I get the letter. Yeah, I get nervous and dread going to hospital too. How are you doing?

Hi stephaney28634 I hate that. You set your self up for it and then you stress again when they organise the next one.

Hi William, I went to my appointment the Consultant said to up to higher dose to 200mg the crohns tablets. He said it will take 3 to 4 months fir them to work on flare up. I wasn't happy about that no one could tell me before how long it would take. sad

    Hi Stephaney,

I get really bad anxiety with doctors and hospitals especially if it’s also all new (which it usually is). I also usually went alone, I don't have any family really and not many friend I let in. I recently had an operation (first time ever - in a totally new place, no having met any of the doctors/nurses who would be involved, so as you can imagine my anxiety was though the roof for weeks beforehand) and one day I was just telling a friend who's vaguely aware of my anxiety issues about it and admitted I was really nervous and as soon as she realised I planned to go in alone, she decided to come along and it wasn’t even a question she pretty much forced me into it (obviously I could have said no, but I think she knew I wanted her there but wouldn’t have actually be able to say yes if she asked whether I’d like her there). Anyway, it made such a HUGE difference, having someone there, I honestly don't know how I would have made it thought that day without her.

So my advice: take someone with you, even if you think there's no one you can ask, think again - sometimes the most unexpected people end up being there when you need someone smile

    Good luck, it'll be ok!

    xx Anya

Is it just me or does that emoticon, which is supposed to just be a smiley face, look a little sinister? Like he just came up with some exceptionally devious plan and is super excited to try it out on someone... lol

What I meant was just simply : )

    Hello there,

I kinda have a phobia about hospitals and doctors.

When i enter a place like that i get all sweaty and in high alert. I don't like needles either but sometimes we need to be around things like that.

Believe me many of us are anxious about going to the doctor.

Hi alerks09215 I work in a hospital and my problem I don't trust doctors and I question them. I have 4 GPs I go to. I find myself my trusting what they are saying and go to another GP for a second opinion. I hate doing this but I can help it. Also I then to get over one think and start working about another.
