I’m a 20 years old female. So a few months ago I found out that I have a benign lesion in my mouth. It’s been there for quite some time. Um I cannot afford the surgery right now. & it’s really causing a lot of emotional stress. I get headaches from it. & I’m so afraid of doctors telling me it’s gotten worse. And I coupd not live with the fact that I’m going to die. I’m just tired of crying & being in pain. And I can’t stop my thoughts from controlling my mind, & mood.

Hi Blackbutterfly,
We note from a recent post which you have made to our forum that you may be experiencing thoughts around self-harm. If we have misinterpreted your comments then we apologise for contacting you directly. But if you are having such thoughts then please note that you are not alone in this, and there are people out there that can help.
If you are having these suicidal thoughts then we strongly recommend you speak to someone who may be able to help. The Samaritans offer a safe space where you can talk openly about what you are going through. They can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen.
Their contact details are on our patient information leaflet here: https://patient.info/health/dealing-with-suicidal-thoughts, which also offers lots of other advice on how you can access the help you may need.
If you are having such thoughts then please do reach out to the team at the Samaritans (or the other people detailed in our leaflet) who will understand what you're going through and will be able to help.
Kindest regards
Patient

If the lesion in your mouth is benign then why are you afraid of dying? If it is benign it means its nothing worrisome or cancerous, etc. So really it's just more of an annoying thing then for you, not dangerous, and therefore there's no reason to even think of the possibility of dying!
Your negative thoughts are just stemming from anxiety, and I know it can be hard but try not to let it overcome you. Eventually you will be able to have the surgery and have it removed, but until then you'll just have to put up with it unfortunately. But just keep reminding yourself it isn't anything dangerous or serious so there's no reason to worry!
