Anxiety and pregabalin

Hello I was diagnosed of generalised anxiety disorder and emotional dysregulation few weeks ago and my psychiatric perscribed me pregabalin to calm my anxiousness well I started on 25mg twice a day then after a week to go on 50mg twice a day well yesterday I started my 50mg and I've woken up today feeling my heart was gonna stop my body went into shock anxious mode I was struggling for breath and feeling worse anxiousness and very bad sickness and dizzy well when I was on 25mg they helped me a lot.. I could get up and do things and go out now I just feel like crap.. I don't fancy taking the 50mg nomore and sticking to the 25mg until my next psychiatric apppointment .. anybody else had this feeling on higher dose

    Dear Kirstie.

    I am concerned about the side affects of the 50mg pregabalin on you, if i was you i would just take the 25mg for now and talk to your specialist about the side effects of the 50mg tablets.

      Thank you for commenting Neil I think that's the best option for me she did say because no ssri was working on me and making me worse that she wanted to try me on pregabalin until 2 months then put me on peroxitine so then it won't give me hardly side effects but I will ring up today and go back on 25mg thank you take care Hun

      If you have side affects from new drugs then it is best to tell your doctor as they would not want you to black out or be sick from new medication.

      Hope you can find a new solution with the meds.

      Hi Neil yea I've spoken to my doctor and they have put me back on 25mg until I see my psychiatric next.. I've taken it and again I feel so much better thank you so much Hun

      I am so pleased that it is working out for you, you can chat here anytime if you need too. The 50mg were double the strength so it caused more problems with you.

    Just keep to the dosage that suits your body until you next see your Psychiatrist an have a chat with them about the side effects you have been experiencing on a higher dose , i take 3 x 50mg a day an have had no problem but then i was put on the 50mg dose straight away , i didn't taper upwards , the thing i didn't like was when i missed a few days ( was unwell so didn't take any medication ) i straight away had the initial side effects i was warned about - feel of being drunk , sway to an fro , etc then that eased off again until the next time , take care x

      Oh dear Hun I've bin told never miss one of them as you can be very unwell hope your feeling a lot better I am back on the 25mg twice a day so I'm happy with that.. but hopefully it does work really good for me as I hate anxiety so much

      It was just after Christmas an i was so unwell that i was sleeping alot , couldn't leave my bed , etc that eating an taking my tablets wasn't really possible , couldn't even get to Boots to collect my prescription , when Boots realised i wasn't always up to getting to the pharmacy for my medication they very kindly organised in to blister packs an arranged for it to be delivered by them each week so that has been a tremendous help to me an very grateful to them for doing that , i am on weekly prescription because of overdosing on paracetamol back in 2015 an the psychiatrist told my GP to do weekly prescription , probably just as well as i am now on heart tablets , so approx 12 different tablets a day including pain killer Tramadol which i just take as an when . I am pleased you are able to stay at 25mg - that suits your body an if it helps you then that it the most important thing , take care x

      Hi I went on the 50mg it made me awful so asked the doctor to put me back on 25mg I have bin taking it since Wednesday and I have felt so awful the have given me alzaine pregabalin and I've had nothing but worse headaches more anxiousness severe dizziness and now I got the worse flu ever but when I was taking the first lot of 25mg I could see a difference it was helping me I don't know if it's because my doctor has given me a different pregabalin I need advice as I have 5 kids to look after and I feel so awful
