Hey all
My gp is at a loss with me. He doesn't know what else to do. He has increased my lexapro to 20mgs and sent me to another cardiologist.
I suffer with chest pain 24/7 and it doesn't let up. It's in the centre of my chest and sometimes it's severe where I think a heart attack is coming or I will just drop dead.
I've had several ecgs and blood tests, last ones being 5 days ago at emergency and all come back normal. I've had a stress test, abdominal scans and chest X-ray, all being normal.
I've seen a cardiologist and he did a ecg and blood pressure but said he's sure it's not my heart. I see a psychiatrist once a week and have had 3 sessions with her. She told me to take magnesium at night so will start that tonight.
Any other suggestions in what anyone else has done for this problem or if they suffer the same??? I'm losing my mind and I just want myself back

Oh I am so sorry for you dad passing and prayers your way for your mom, she is in good hands. The strongest person in the world would have Aniexty right now what you are going through so glad you are seeking better help. It's good that they started you on a low dose of Lexapro which is a very good med and increased the dose, very normal. Magnesium helps with sleep so start off slow, it could cause diarrhea if you take too much! Good luck

I hope I'm on the way to recovery. The pain today is bad. It's gone to the top of my chest, across my shoulders and down my arms. It's terrifying the hell out of me and not to mention the sweaty hands and body tremors

Relax if you can, take a shower, go for a walk, post to Joe all night LOL.
When you see your psychiatrist, ask for some benzodiazepines(Xanax-Klonopin) if they don't offer them to you first. Under your stress level right now, they are pretty much the only thing that will ease the pain for a while and it also helps you sleep, Im not trying to push benzodiazepines but i was jogging 4 miles a day compleley out of my mind still with zero relef
dropping pounds, no sleep, shaking all day at work which I still have no idea how I made it through the day and the benzodiazepines saved the day. My whole story is more complex but I went to Hell for 4 months and I aint going back there and I don't want anyone who wants my advice to go to that place so my advice is from the heart! Good luck, update us or PM me if you want. Joe

I suffer exactly the same Molly, chest pain in the centre of my breast bone almost.
Sometimes it's so bad I think I'm going to pass out
Last night in bed I led with a bag of frozen peas on my chest and it kind of numbed the feeling so I was able to drop off to sleep.
I've also heard magnesium is good to take, wheee di you get the tablets from???
