The thing is, Wendy, you will feel a lot worse in the initial days of the antidepressant. Usually after a few weeks, the side effects become more tolerable, it does take time, and a sedative or beta blocker can help with the anxiety.

Antidepressant dosing is a tricky thing to get right. Sounds like moving to 5mg for a while was a good move.

If you don't want to take the antidepressant, that is up to you of course, but if you've been prescribed a sedative, then it would make sense to use it.

The feelings you are describing are all common to anxiety and depression, and of course may have been increased by the antidepressant meds in the first stages.

Hope you are feeling a bit better today. 🙂

Its normal for anxiety to increase when you start taking these, and coming off them quickly.  Hang in there!  try not to let the symptoms scare you and try to see it as physical anxiety symptoms which are perfectly normal.  Am amazed that the doctor took you off them so quickly without giving them a chance.
