    Hi lorna,

I have got the same problem ,can you not take small steps perhaps round the garden even 2 mins and then perhaps just down the road and back.I can manage to go round the block but won't go to the high street Husband goes to the supermarket I have given up driving ,why when we are out we are worse if that's possible.I have a wedding to go to in July already getting in a state about it,three years ago Zi was here there and everywhere. Not much help but for you to know you are not alone,I do find coming on here helps sharing it.

I am here if you want to chat.

    Take Care

This is a typical symptom of anxiety.....agoraphobia/De-personalisation...call it what you will.  My daughter helped me by pacing ouselves to the lamp posts in the street!  We would walk (at night, because I would not go out in the day) to the first lamp lampost then turn back, until we progressed to the second and  so third....an

    Hello Lorna

This is a typical symptom of anxiety......agoraphobia/De-personalisation....call it what you will.

My daughter helped me by walking with me (in the dark because I would not go out in the day), using lamp posts to pace it out.  First lamp.post in the street, then turn back,  then a few nights later the second....and so on, and eventually round the block, and then longer distances. Since then I have flown several long hauls to different countries........so you CAN do it. Have faith in yourself....If I did it, so can you! xx

      Hi Vicky

You always put nice comments on my posts...thank you.  I try to help other people, because I know how difficult it is.  I must admit that from time to time I still suffer from anxiety (caused by outside influence and family matters) but I rely on my old friend Fluoxetine. I also tell myself time and time again not to be so stupid as to let "it" take over.  But when it is caused by outside sources, it is even more difficult, because then there is not much control over what it happening outside your life, but affects your daily life.  I have been so interested in what people post.....I only wish "it" had been treated more openly when I was a young person.

So......progress indeed.  Good Luck to all.

I'm with you on what you've said some days worse than others only ones with it know how bad it is.My evenings become my daytime as it tends to drop so I go to the shop locally then ,this anxiety really puts your life on hold letters on site says it all were all in same boat.Several women I know have gotten off buses walked out of supermarkets  due to their anxiety, they tell me they don't go out .my thinking on it is hormones like Blood pressure it goes up and down in spikes through out the day.Im late 60s how about you ladies on site .others say there okay mornings but worse at night  any ideas.x

Hello to Joan and Lorna what a bad time for us all. I don't have depression or tremors that's a blessing to me. don't know how you cope with it really don't on top of everything else I do get the fidgets a fair bit till anxiety drops a bit then bit of calm comes in.Ive been like this for almost 8 years since I got a virus out of that came this anxiety. Its finding our way out of it.When I do venture out I tell myself I can be stood next to someone with same anxiety and I wouldn't know it same when I'm driving person in car in front can be feeling same as me so I try to rationalise it out .hey Laura and Joan think that way when your out I tell people I suffer anxiety  to me if you had a broken arm people can see that I look on this as the same, but anxiety etc they can't.Im glad it's talked about today.so many young and older with it .Laura I've said to my husband I couldn't have worked with it.Hope Joan you enjoy your shopping trip good for you .think of you both xx
