Asymptomatic LS - only morphological changes, side effect of steroids.

Hi,
I was diagnosed with LS a couple of months ago. The diagnosis was based solely on morphological changes to my vulva - I don't have hardly any labia minora and my clitoris is a bit buried beneath the skin. Also the whole area is white-ish.
I went to see an expert in the field in an unrelated manner and she gave me the diagnosis of LS. She said I probably had it for years. I never had any symptoms before. She put me on steroids (3 times a week, ointment) and said she's hopeful some of the changes might reverse.
The problem is - since I started using the steroids, I have a persistent itch. It comes and goes but I feel it like 50% of the time. It feels like a mild yeast infection itch. I suspect it might even be a yeast infection, but I'm not sure. I've using antifungal cream when it doesnt go away by itself in a day but I'm left wondering will this be my life from now on and maybe I was better not knowing about the LS since I didn't really feel it.
Does anybody have any experience with something like that? any advice?
Thanks!!

hi yes i was the same, i had some friction marks and whiteness, but i never had any burning soreness itching or any feeling of anything wrong until i started using the steroid, then i was getting a persistent fluttery feeling, not an itch i want to scratch but like a fizzy feeling and just felt "raw", coming and going but worse at times
i remember one night it feeling ok, then i put the steroid ointment on and it started fizzing and tingling and would not go away, it was only then i thought hang on this only started AFTER the steroid.
i am now on the steroid "cream" rather than the ointment, still dermovate, most people get on better with the ointment but some dont, just to see if there was some ingredient in the ointment that didnt agree with me, also switched to every 2nd night not every night
it seems a bit better but i have also started periodically using vagisil and randomly germaloid cream, although i dont have itching i find the lidocaine in them helps to numb the area. im waiting to be referred as my gp admitted she didnt know enough about LS to know if the LS was causing those feelings or something else (and she has an interest in dermatology and womens health!)
