b12/dilate deficiency anemia

Has anyone else been diagnosed with this as part of peri? And any other symptoms. I'm 41 but have dizzy spells, anxiety feelings, nausea, sore boobs, extreme difficulties sleeping, flushes, night sweats...feel exhausted! Not sure what peri related and what's not.

    Sorry... should say b12/folate deficiency!

Yes all of the above are associated with peri and menopause. I'm seven years now into peri. Still having periods though. But I get all the symptoms you mentioned above and then some.

I have been diagnosed as anemic due to heavy cycles. I am on a iron supplement and a small dose of folic acid. It could be peri related. I never had these issues before. All the symptoms you name I have except for the sore boobs. Which no longer gets sore before a cycle. But all those symptoms are peri related.

I have had the sore boobs and very stressed about everything related to my chest area! Today was significant hot flashes.

I've had iron deficiency anemia--not folate deficiency--difference being that you have abnormally large red blood cells and I don't have enough red blood cells. Either way, do you also have to take iron supplements, or just B-12/folate? I have heavy bleeding due to fibroids, and one thing I found recently, was that when I drank a glass of water with cayenne pepper, it stopped the heavy blood flow and I was actually able to go out that day, which never happens! Just an FYI to anyone here who suffers with that. Have a nice evening!

Thanks for sharing. Any kind of Cheyenne pepper? I have heavy bleeding as result of fibroids. During and after my period any exertion causes my heart to pound (I get embarrassed because I can't walk along with friends without being out of breath). I still get sore breast.

I think any brand of cayenne will work, but I had some that I bought at Trader Joe's. Hope it helps you if you try it!

    Hi Notready,

I don't know that it was a symptom of peri but yes I had to have b12 injections for a while plus folic acid tablets.

The GP blamed it on the fact that I had been vegetarian for 10 years.

I was completely shattered and lethargic. The injections only made a slight difference to that. I'm still so tired all the time have sleep problems.

Once my levels were ok they stopped the injections, I still take a lot of b12 methycobalmin 1000mg sublingual.
