yes, sounds like the "standard" pain. I control it w/supplements now. What kind of activities are you doing during the day to get in a bad shape?

Hi doodle56
Pain all over sounds bout right. I am getting my RTHR on 8th January and my mornings at work start off ok but if i dont take pain killers i will be in agony by lunchtime.
To Charlie 2018,
what kind of supplements do you take to control pain.
And i have a very physical job so i'm on my feet all day.
I had my LTHR 2 years ago and cant wait to get this one done. Tired of been in pain.
Wishing doodle56 a speedy recovery and i find if i take painkillers in the morning i can lessen the pain. But paracetamol that used to work for me dont work any more so i'm on precription pain meds.
Hopefully you can lessen the pain for the next few weeks

i take codeine and paracetamol at bedtime which seems to last till late morning but the more walking and standing that i do the worse the pain gets until it is unbearable.
i only take codeine in the day if i get desperate
feels like my leg is on fire
oh what fun being a hippie is !

i take tumeric and all the known anti inflamation type supplements and some CBD. It is not a cure, but it has helped me manage to get around. Like yourself if i go alot during the day i will be in pain, but fortunetly my work is not physical. i do figure my day is coming.

doodle...it sounds like you are experiencing the typical symptoms of OA of the hip. this can not repair itself nor can any supplements help replace the cushion in the joint which is usually eroded by wear and tear. see OA of the hip for more info. . ask for a xray of your hip joints. no need to suffer from OA pain....many of the hippies will agree that hip joint replacement can help you get back your life free from pain and mobility will improve as well as the horrible exhaustion that seems to go with the pain. many of us have suffered with oa pain and were glad we had the surgery and wondered why we waited so long in pain when the best option is thr. sometime a better understanding of what OA is can help with knowing how to treat OA and what options are available.

Im a carpenter, very physically demanding job. By 8:00 am just walking had me wincing in pain. I started with some light duty work around the house last week( gutting a bed room) . That was week 8 . my advice is move surgery to as soon as possible. And go to every PT appointment. Best of luck...Fred

Hi Doodle
I had horrific back pain, hip pain, knee pain, foot pain and shoulder pain prior to my hip replacement. Now I have a little bruise like pain on the back of my calf and under my toes on the top of my foot, at almost 6 weeks post op. The relief from that previous pain is marvellous. I will be having my other hip replacement sometime in spring/summer as I have arthritis due to displagia and it is starting to hurt like the other one did. Good luck with everything. Hope you will be painfree very soon!

i saw my consultant on friday and he reassured me that the majority of my pain was hip related so hopefully will replace my hip on 22nd January .
