Hello everyone,

Here is some background on my current conditions:

-I was told by my dentist and chiropractor I clench/grind my teeth (I am wearing a mouthgaurd)

-fibro

-enlarged thyroid

I experience pain throughout my entire back on a daily basis. It seems to be there when I wake up and slowly diminish into the morning. The weird thing is... I wake up in the middle of the night/early morning and my back won't hurt. It isn't untill I am waking up for the day that the pain starts. It feels like a pulling tight pain. It hurts when I bend over and put my chin to my chest, the pain is so intense that I can't stretch in the mornings. There is dome psin felt while lying still too. I am active and work out 5 days a week (I just started working out again a couple weeks ago and this had been going on for a lot longer than that). I am not sure if fibro is the cause or not because when it was bad the pain was felt all over my body all day long. Maybe the pain has changed?

Also, I have been experiencing some sensations in my face, mainly around the mouth area. i get bad facial pain and headaches. When I message/stretch my jaw muscles they hurt so bad. I am wonering if this is from clenching my jaw.

I have also been experiencing some sensations down both arms. It feels like something heavy had been on my arms and they are falling asleep.

If anybody has any insite into why this is happening, please comment below.

Thank you, Sarah

The pain you describe could very well be from clenching your jaw. Have you seen a specialist? They usually recommend xrays for evaluation as well as mouth cushion to prevent faw muscles from injury during sleep.

I was recently diagnosed with TMJ and started wearing my mouth guard. My TMJ specialist told me that the carpal tunnel in my right arm could very well be caused by my TMJ. Really surprised me but he drove it home when he examined me during the consultation poking and prodding around in my mouth and then on the way home my hand started hurting. I found that very interesting and that caused me to delay my appointment with the ortho doctor for my wrist and hand. So that might explain the pains in your face, jaw, neck, head and even your arms. As for the pulling pain in your back that sounds like tight muscles and you're already seeing a chiropractor so I would continue seeing him. You might also want to be sure that you're doing a proper stretch after you workout. Make sure you're stretching the muscles in your back after you work out. And in addition you should be doing a warm up stretch, exercise and then stretch again. You are doing that right? Well that's my bit of information, use it as you will.
