I'm after some advice really , I've been back on cit 20 for around 7 weeks now for anxiety and depression (breakdown ) I've try verious ssri but cit seem to be the only 1 I seem to settle with. Ne ways things have got a little easier for me but my social anxiety is still there and holding me back so much and keeping me out of my job. With plays on my mood and emotions and becomes a negative spiral I'm currently doing cbt and attend anxiety groups and challenge my thoughts and educate myself ect I also go jogging regular to try and help take vitamin's and eat the best way I can. My question is I do just stop with the meds if I'm still suffering or do I carried on and hope it subsides on top of self help ??? Really confused and frustrated.
Apologies for the s.a

If the Citalopram is helping with your depression then my advice would be to stick with it and get together with your doctor about adding something else for the anxiety. I take Propranolol 10mg. 3 times daily for my anxiety on top of the Citalopram to treat my depression. That's the combination that works for me.

Back on Citalopram - I take it that you've taken this before? It generally takes longer than 7 weeks to start healing, and if like me ... my first time many moons ago it took 3 months to kick in, and when I returned to Citalopram for a second time it took much longer.
Give it longer .... a good 3-4 months at least. If these meds worked before then they'll work again.
