Hi
I wonder if anyone else is struggling with similar meds as me?
I am already on Seroxat 40mg morning and quetiapene 600mg at night for bipolar and bpd. Due to problems with worsening anxiety and depression I was put on Mirtazapine 15mg three weeks ago and I am struggling with the side effects.
The first two weeks seemed to give me more energy and motivation and now this third week I have been very tired and felt so sluggish and spaced out. I have no energy and no clarity in thinking. I am logging my weight weekly too as I am worried about weight gain.
Is anyone else finding similiar problems?
I don't know whether to give it a few more weeks or contact my psychiatrist.

I was constantly fatigued on Mirt and gained 40 pounds (along with other side effects). I was starving myself for the last 2 years so I wouldn't continue to gain weight. But everyone responds differently to the drug. Just be aware it can be difficult for some people to get off of Mirt. I was one of those people and it took me a year to slowly titrate down after a disasterous cold turkey attempt.

Hi Kc2325
Thanks for your reply.
I've taken the night meds earlier today at 9.30pm and will see if that helps.
I will try to speak with my psychiatrist on Monday though.
Its so hard when you are dealing with brain fog to do anything.

Hi I've been on mirtazapine now for 2 weeks sleeping much better. Have been on citalopram for 5yrs which suited me fine from what I've read on here about coming off mirtazapine it's quite scary and wondering if I've done the right thing.
I felt worse on citalopram with the brain fog seems to me much better now but the lack of sleep does that to you anyway and can affect us in so many negative ways.
Good luck

Hi. Thanks for sharing your experience of being on Mirtazapine. I am trying to stick with it for a few more weeks as it can take upto 2 months for you to adjust to it. I have been keeping a weekly weight log and so far I haven't gained any extra weight after 3 weeks. I am already big enough so I was really worried about additional weight gain. I have been oversleeping this last week due to feeling low and apathetic so I am hoping I can pick up this week. I also am worried about the impact of coming off of Mirtazapine due to the comments on here. However I think if we have only just started it and might need to come off it its gona be easier in the early stages.

Oh I see. Yes I might have to ask my Dr about reducing my meds if I continue to struggle the following day.
I was quite low and slept much more than necessary so last night I didn't sleep at all. I am staying awake until night time to hopefully sort it out.
Thanks for your replies guys. It makes such a difference getting info on other peoples meds experiences.
