Been prescribed Sertraline 50mg tablets for problems below??? :/

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have been to doctors today and have been prescribed sertraline 50 mg tablets and been

advised to take 1 a day for a week followed by 2 a day afterwards.

I was told this would help with my problems.

Ok heres my issue, when i go to toilet i pass very little urine but go frequently and theres no sensation when weeing.

Also, when i do my private act of ejaculating, hardly any cum leaks plus theres no relief.

I have had this problem for 12 months.

I have been to G/U/M clinic and everything came back ok.

Anyone else got similar problems and been prescribed this or not?

Not sure why you have been given sertraline do you have any other symptoms e.g anxiety, depreesion etc. Have you any history of diabetes in your family and do you take any other meds or supplements. Its worth having a diabetes test to rule this out.

    Hope this helps

Hi Tun1 thanks for your post and house too.

I have had a history of depression , doctor thinks its in my head my problems down below..

So hes given me these, as he thinks its mental instead of physical, doctor is adamant that pills will sort it. My doctor i usually trust with things but this i dont.. its really mad.

No not had history of diabetes in family, have had diabetes test in past and been ok, however i have had other blood and urine tests yesterday again just in case.

I have cut out c in last 2 days hocolate and tea and fizzy drinks and alchol just to see if that does anything as ive been told this may have an effect with my situation.

    will keep you posted.

im just fed up of this as its been going on for 12 months, i wanna see urologhist but doctor doesnt see it as a problem.

Sounds like you have quite a high sugar intake all the things you have mentioned most definitely impact on your situation. Its worth considering serious lifestyle changes but i know its had having a constant struggle with chololate myself but when i had a high blood sugar reading after feeling quite dizzy one day i soon knocked the chocolate on the head.I work closely with a lot of diabetics and if i have to give up chocs so i dont end up on looads of meds so be it.Seeing the amount of tablets and routines they have to go through is enough to convince me.I have made lifestyle changes to enable me control both my high cholesterol and high blood pressure.I run three times a week and have cut out bread and add no salt to food.So far managed to keep of tabs for both though my GP said you cant bring down cholesterol without tablets it was 8 last year now its 6 and will be aiming to get it below 5 with a serious drop in no of chocs(used to have minimum 2 bars a day).

I always urge people to make the lifestyle changes diet and exercise really does work.If you need to go on tablets for any condition eventually the healthy base you start from means you would probably not need high doses of medication.

    thanks again tun1

problem with me is ive always been a fussy eater.

i havent had any chocolate wednesday, thursday, friday and then today i had a penguin smile lol

so i feel i have done good, have stopped drinking coke which is good smile and no alchol or tea, so im doing well i feel smile

running, i have no motivation, i used to run a lot when i was a kid, but now i dont i think a lot of it is down to fact i dont have friends, i only have family and they aint exactly the ones to do exercise either.

I am also out of work, and if im being brutly honest i am feeling down to the above as well as being highely in debt, i think all these things arent helping i guess that is why my doctor has prescribed me tablets

thank you house.. ive just taken a quick scan through that leaflet., and that is interesting reading.

ill tell u what between u , tun1 and this website overall, i feel i may have been given more knowledge than my GP!!

My doctor probably doesnt want to "insert a finger into my anus to feel prostate" lol

But yep, cut out cola, tea, and alchol, so we shall see.

i really wanna be referred to a urologist !!! so annoying
