Started birth control a month ago, hoping it will help with some symptoms of peri. My moods have gotten very very badsad I feel so frustrated with everything, lonely, depressed, crazy, guilty is a big one. Yet I cannot controll my stupid moodsad

I was spotting 2 weeks before expected period and feel exhausted and achy all over. Some nausea too. I feel like crying all the time, angry, sadsad I want to give up on the stupid pills but should I? I want to be normal for my family. It feels so infair to them. :'( I am so ashamed!

Hi, okay you need to go back to your doctor and get a different pill. The ones you're taking aren't working, you have felt better after a few weeks, not a month later. I tried 2 different types before I was given the right one for my hormones. It is trial & error until your hormones get the right balance.

Sorry to hear...  I know it's a tough time.   In Sept I was exhausted all the time and then eating nonstop!  Didn't care about household duties or even cook for the family.  Blood work turned out great..  So i then pushed myself to eat healthier and also do some kind of exercise each day.  I started a woman's health vitamin and cod liver oil which helps with moods among other things.  All this has helped me.   I think it was also being good to myself that helped.  No need to be ashamed, we need to learn to take care of ourselves better.

Hi, you need to head back to the Dr, get them to change your tablets.

I was like you until they put me on hrt, the 1 I'm on is still not perfect and they are looking at changing it, so yes it's trial and error.

I've started to try and eat healthier and have a smoothie a day which I think has made a difference but again it's trial and error.

I know it's easier to say but you have nothing to feel guilty about, we have to look after ourselves, take some you time. I find having a bath, doing my nails or just reading helps me.

    Good luck

    Hugs
