Birth control pill or hrt????!!!!!!

My gyn confirmed my estrogen is low. Level 18 when it should be 30.

He stayed an estrogen only supplement is unsafe but a high estrogen low progesterone would be helpful.

I looked up pills like YAz and Ortho-tri but all have such negative side effects. I understand everyone must play around with bc till you find what’s right for you. I hate the idea of synthetic tho.

Option 2. Is a pill or compound cream. Though he said cream is usually more for vaginal atrophy. I know it’s not covered by insur which is fine.

My symptoms are night sweats, my core gets hot sometimes, mult areas of stiffness/joint pains.

Can anyone give me what worked for them!!!

Thanks

I am using plant hormones, which I grow myself. You can buy supplements which contain them, but it's not as natural but still better than the synthetic stuff.

There is an alternative to HRT called biomatching or BHRT which is also based on plant hormones. I don't know whether insurance covers it though. Latest scientific evidence shows that red clover (often used for supplements) contains plant progesterone as well as plant oestrogen. I can point you at the studies if you are interested. It means though that you need to get a supplement with the whole plant, so you get all the different elements. Good luck

      Thanks for the reply.

I am 45. I believe I started perimenopause at 38. My mom hit menopause at 46.

I spoke with my new gyn and weee going to try hrt cream to use on my arm. It’s a mix of photoestrogens which more closely match normal hormones.

It’s so hard to tell what causes ones ailments it’s so confusing. Like I started to itch on my torso and back. It seems to be winter rash, however I didn’t have this when younger. My skin drying out is prob related to aging and hormones.

I’ll keep my eye on red clover.

      How are ur symptoms now?

My symptoms are much better. Occasional hot flush but everything else is normal now. I was really drying up before I started sprouting red clover and mung beans, which contain the same bio identical hormones that your gyn is giving you. You do have to get into the habit of growing but the mung only take a couple of days before they are ready and the red clover takes a week. There are books on growing your own hrt if you are interested.  I haven't had a period for 18 months

      Best wishes,
