Bladder pain

Hi everyone - just needing some reassurance. i had a hysterectomy last year plus other investigative work (cystoscopy & laparoscopy) for abdomen pain etc - all negative. i am now experiencing bladder pain, like a throbbing pain and sometimes it hurts to pee - a real stinging feeling - does anyone else suffer from bladder pain. its been getting me down and worried now. many thanks

hi Sophie - Perhaps you have a UTI - you should probably go get it checked out & get on a RX If need be - UTI's can be a lovely common symptom of this journey -

hi! have you been checked for a UTI or kidney stones? Many times after surgeries like yours you can get an infection. also have your doc check inside your bladder for ulcers. they do feel the same as a urinary tract infection. all in all i would get a full workup. ive been a registered nurse for 20 years and even the smallest surgery can come with risks. I HAVE interstitial cystitis and it burns very badly. luckily there are medications to help ease that pain.

lots of water and cranberry juice!

best of luck to you! hugs

    hi sophie

I guess first you need to find out if its a UTI or from dehydration. if none of those things it could be hormonal...

mine started like constant UTIs that weren't really UTIs it was sporadic at first and then full blown constant couldn't get up off the floor kind of pain, needing to pee every second with full bladder feeling, even after peeing i would still need to go. HRT was what helped bring it under control for me as nothing else worked. there is a pill called oxybutynin that is given here. i was allergic but have heard it works for others. im in Tasmania Australia so the name may be different in the UK your dr could find the equivalent though. good luck. i hope you find relief and peace soon.
