Bleeding at 5.5 weeks post posterior repair

Posted , 5 users are following.

I had a post op check last week and the surgeon said all looked well and will see me mid December again. Keep taking it easy no heavy lifting or straining.

Today when i went to the washroom there was some blood (i havent bled at all throughout the recovery). I read somewhere that around this time there can be some bleeding as the sutures dissolve. Its not heavy bleeding but enough that i wasnt expecting it.

Also curious about sex.. obviously intercourse would be a no go... but other play shouldnt be a problem at this point?

Thoughts, advice or other experiences?

Thanks

I waited 6 weeks for "other" activities. No problems at all - just be gentle. Intercourse sounds terrifying. I have my post op in 2 more weeks, even once I get the go ahead I might wait longer.

Ive had some light bleeding since this afternoon. I saw two pieces of stitches on the toilet paper and a small clot in the toilet. The blood is almost discharge like.. red with clear discharge. Not having any real pain but slight cramping and occasional twinge where the stitches lay. Im wondering if i might have stretched the stitches causing it to bleed. Im almost 6 weeks post op and this is the first time ive had any bleeding (aside from my period 2 weeks ago). Ive spent a good portion of the day and evening laying down so im hoping it will seal up if im not putting pressure on it. My dr said last week that a bit of bleeding is normal as the sutures dissolve.. but i would think less than this amount. Its almost like a light period.

Hi had a@p in May which failed after 2.5 weeks so obviously the anterior prolapse was hanging down making stitches that we're supposed to be higher up near opening. We tried after about 8 weeks but husband said he could feel the stitches, which made it uncomfortable for him (I was fine).

I am currently in hospital after having op repeated yesterday, fingers crossed that I don't prolapse again x

Could be your period, no? About the sex...I had to ask my dr specifically if he meant no intercourse or no orgasm. He said "nothing in the vagina". So, as long as you follow the nothing in the vagina/no intercourse rule, I think stimulation and orgasm is okay in moderation. You don't want to have back to back crazy orgasms, but one or two every few days is probably okay.
