Hi all. I have got a very complicated history I have a lot of allergies (allergy to canesten and aqueous cream just 2 I am aware of please bare with me). I was on the pill temporarily as I suffer with severe heavy periods I had to go to hospital at one stage I lost so much blood, I have now bled every day for 5 weeks and have had episodes of severe vertigo (fallen into walls, injuries in the bath, nearly ended up in the road). I also have suspected Lichen Sclerosus, and Interstitial Cystitis and Type 1 diabetic I can’t use tampons without force because of vulval swelling. I went to see a GP yesterday about the bleeding but doesn’t know how to help me she’s getting a dr to do an internal examination next week, I had more episodes of dizziness so I again went to see a GP as I am getting injured from falls the GP today was slagging me off on my medical records (I can access them online) and is clearly furious that I see different drs (7 GP surgeries have merged so there is more appointments) I was made to believe that my problems are not real I am thinking along the lines that they are both connected the dizziness with 5 weeks of bleeding she just shoved a months worth of proclorperazine at me for dizziness but my regular GP is away and he didn’t want me on them longer than a week due to side effects. Am I wrong to think that bleeding for 5 weeks could cause dizziness and shouldn’t they be referring me on to a gynaecologist? I am changing GPs as soon as my vulval biopsy comes back but really concerned that the bleeding isn’t stopping and they won’t do a thing. I need someone to hear me even if no one can help me.

Hi Gemma,
You didn't state your age and I don't understand a lot of what is going on with you but the only suggestion I have is an ablation if you are not wanting anymore kids. I bled for 3 months straight and the ablation solved my issues. Also maybe see a GYN instead of GP. Sounds like you need more of a specialist. Hope it all works out for you.

Yes, please see a gyn. It's important for us to take care of symptoms. Doctors tend to push away anything they don't understand or think is a real problem. If you feel something is wrong it usually is. I've worked in the medical field for over 24 years and Ive had my share of health issues so please just have them send you to a gyn. Best of luck to you.
