Bleeding not letting up

Posted , 5 users are following.

hi ladies

I've been suffering with heavy, clotting periods for almost 2 years. been prescribed TCA for.this. Gynaecologists found fibroids and are carrying out more investigations.

My periods have been arriving every 24 days and lasted for 4/5 days. My last period was on 5th April but then it didn't appear until 3rd June. This time round I have been bleeding, not too heavily, ever since. just wondering if others have experienced this and how I manage it without the stressing.

TIA

    HI Tracey

Sorry to hear you are getting this. You sound like your experience is exactly like mine heaviness wise. I am 54 and didn't have a period for about 9 months or so but then I went on HRT to sort out the other symptoms (hot flushes, mood swings, thinning of vaginal walls etc) and it was great for the first 4-5months but then I got spotting and for the last two cycles Ive starte dhaving heavy bleeding. This last one started about 2 weeks ago (on the first day of my holiday too - grr) and it was really clotty and heavy.

I went to doc and had my mirena coil removed (it was out of date anyway) and during the examination I had such awful pain I was crying and she said I had a polyp by my cervix. Ive now been seen by a consultant and am having a hysteroscopy this Friday to remove the polyps and any others the doc may find in the womb area which they believe is causing the bleeding. Ive also had to come off HRT. He said everything else looks OK but you know what health anxiety is like in peri-meno ! Ive been beside myself with worry imagining all sorts so I will glad to get this all sorted on Friday and hope all is well.

If you are concerned about your heavy periods now maybe you'll be prescribed a coil or something too? It seems odd I know but they say it helps.

Anyway you aren't alone hunni and i really feel for you as I know what this is like but Im sure your gyn /doc will be able to help you when hes done his checks.

    take care lovely x

I have bleed for 6 weeks, twice in the last 2 years. Have been checked out twice, full range of tests in the last 4 years. No answers, just perimenopause. I was glad to have it checked out, but still stressed about it. Now, it has been almost 3 months, nothing....here is hoping....

HI Tracy, That same situation happened to one of my best friends,, she had it for like 2 years they were going to give her a hysterectomy and then all at once she stopped her period forever. she was so happy she was 47 when this happened,,I also have a ton of fibroids that may be giving me different problems...

Hi, since you are seeing a gynaec and taking some medication it is always advisable to consult your doctor before you start any supplements to prevent any interactions

I had very heavy bleeding and clotting about 6 months ago. I have been taking maca root organic powder daily and I think that has helped me and I havent had any clotting since. I also take ibuprofen 200 mg when I bleed heavily.
