Body Temperature
Last June our 15 year old daughter got too hot at a basketball camp. Since then every time she is exercising or working too hard, she gets some of these symptoms: eyes crossing, dizzy, extremely sweaty. Can your body's thermostat get out of whack? Or have you heard of this. Where do we start to try to figure this out? Thanks!

She could be dehydrated. Loosing key function and eltrolites. Drinking gator aide heels restore electrolites and water. If she pinches up skin in hand and it takes linger than an immediate return to normal or pres on her gums turning white take longer than an instant for pink gum color to return that's a way to check fo dehydration. The counselors at the camp should know this.

I think you would do wise to consult a good physician to run or refer her for some checks and exclude a few things. It could be something fairly simple like dehydration or overhydration or be a symptom of something more serious. Based on what you described, I would think blood pressure needs checking, and perhaps the heart will need to be checked (i believe including a stress test) as well as thyroid function. These are the most pressing. Bloodwork would likely be taken first to check for electrolyte imbalances/mineral levels, thyroid function, liver function and general bloodcounts to exclude anemia etc.
Please let us know how it goes.
All the best.
