Bump on Penis since age 12

Hi there,

This bump started small at about age 12 (So its not sexually transmitted), and it has never been painful or bothered me much - however being 27 now and being single, its very embarrasing when I engage in sexual contact and women often think I have an STD

I am not really sure what it is and have searched all over online. Sounds like it could be a cyst possibly. But like I said it has never been painful or even irritating at all.

Slightly nervous to go to the doc. Do any of you have an idea as to what it may be?

Either a natural wart (not a genital wart STD type, but a natural one.... locaton on your genitals >.>wink or a pimple. You could cut it off with a doc, but I'm guessing it would scar it. Get proof you had it since you were 12, or women wouldn't want to get near that. Unless they like the extra... "texture". wink

That's unusual.  It looks harmless to me, especially if you've had it since before you were ever sexually active.  I'd get it looked at though, as I can see how it might be difficult to explain to a new partner, and it may be relatively easy to fix it cosmetically.

Just because a man tells a woman that he's always had something, or that he'd had something checked out and it's fine doesn't mean he's telling the truth btw.  That means that even if he's telling the truth, some women won't believe him.

Don't be nervous about seeing a doctor.  They've seen everything, including things that would make most people recoil in horror, so they're not going to be phased by a fairly innocent-looking bump.  As I often point out here, women have to lie on their backs with their legs in the air on a regular basis, while a stranger looks inside them with a speculum and flashlight, so we men have it easy.  There are way too many men who won't see a doctor till they absolutely have to, and it's something we need to change.

You could either see your GP, or if you're in the UK, you could go to a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic - google "GUM clinic near me" for details.

If you could update this thread and tell us what the doctors say, it would be appreciated.  Good luck.

    Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor.

    Hey,

So I gave my GP a call and she said she would see me tomorrow morning.

I have had various one night stands and such since 12 obviously, and no women has ever commented on it - but I have a women in my life I love now and want to take it to the next step and am a bit embarrased.

I have told her about it and am going to get blood tests and everything tomorrow. She is supportive and even said if its nothing STD wise, no need to go through the pain of getting it cut off and possible scarring.

I dont think its anything but a cyst - as its been on my glans for as long as I can remember basically - and has never caused any discomfort or pain, or spread etc.

I will post my update as to what the doc says.

Thanks for all the kind responses
