have had skin flare ups for the last year and a half. ive had something similar in the past but it was just my feet not my entire body like it is now. extremely itchy burning needle prick feeling. if i sweat it gets extremely worse and my whole body starts itching and turns blotchy red EVERYWHERE. i itch until so much i wakeup with blood on my sheets.

my doctor sent me to a skin specialist who said it was eczema but i think its something worse. i took prednisone many times but it comes right back once i get off if it. i took methyltrexate and had a horrible reaction to it where i ended up going to emergency.

this condition is ruining my life. please help.

hi julia - out of curiousity, how old are you? have you entered the peri/menopause stage of your life yet? if so, it could be imbalanced hormones wrecking havoc on your skin - just a thought -

Are you moisturizing your skin regularly ? Do you live in a very dry area ?

It sounds like it may be connected to your diet. I have a ton of food intolerances and the only way that I can pinpoint what upsets my system (and there's a lot of them) is to eat meat and animal products only - I find these do not upset me at all; and then slowly (like one item every 3 days) add things back and give it a day or 2 to see how you respond. I hope that helps - skin issues are a nightmare!

If you are vegan by any chance I would highly advise you to get animal products back into your diet asap! And cut gluten out completely.
