I've had burning skin sensations all over my back that felt just like you describe - like Ben Gay. It was on and off for about 6 weeks from October to November. It seems to be quiet right now, but I wonder if it is a symptom that will return for me. It could be hormones or anxiety.

Me...i get it almost nightly - primarily its my burning back, chest, front of calves & forearms - it has been so bad it sent me to the ER & of course after many tests the drs looked at me crosseyed.
i am 7 years post menopause so go figure - although a naturopath once told me it doesnt matter what stage you are in, its when your hormones finally get depleted -
i have been dealing with burning skin, tingling hands & feet, ocassional electrical zapping & vibrations for almost 2 years - i dont know if i am just getting used to it or what, but it seems to impact me a bit less -

i am so upset with the doctors in uk, they seem to be strange of anything that concern their job. gp s are terrible, they don t know anything about anything. it bad to look on the internet about symptoms and diseases, but what orher choices do we have?

Yes. I have the same problem. It seems to be ok if I am active and move or exercise, however when I rest and sleep the burning pain comes back. I would have to move 24/7 to be pain free.

Yes. I first felt that in my left foot 3 years ago, thought I had sunburn. My face would burn, my upper back. It's morphed over the years and now when I feel that burning I will get a hot flash where I'm completely on fire and will break a small sweat. So I believe these are precursors to hot flashes. And yes, drop in estrogen to blame. It's only since my periods started missing for months at a time that the traditional flashes started. But to this day it still starts with burning in my feet.

I know this burning is miserable and not knowing why is driving me crazy. I also have internal vibrations and air hunger on top of it.

Oh my gosh this was my very very first symptom of perimenopause about four years ago. Around 3 o’clock in the afternoon I used to feel like somebody was blowing a hot hair dryer just on my face and my ears. And it would give me a massive headache. But the heat feeling was intense. It lasted nearly every day for a year. I thought it was some form of a hot flash even though I had No other hormonal symptoms at that time. Gynecologist said no way. Sure enough after that started having night sweats, hot flashes, irregular., All the good stuff. The hot face I think was maybe some type of migraine that caused by hormonal changes.
