Can anyone answer this question????

I have HSV 2 for 20 years and rarely have outbreaks. Just started dating this guy and told him and he is ok with it. I am on daily supressive therapy (valtrex 500mg) and we use condoms. However, he wants to not use condoms. I would feel horrible if he got it and am reading different things on how likely he would be to get it. Does anyone know any info on this???

4% spreading without protection & taking meds. 1% spreading with protection & taking meds

And 2% with meds but no condoms (or vice versa), like the OP is asking about. It should be noted that these percentages are not the risk per sex act, but per *year*.

The odds are certainly lower in your case, since you're female with a male partner, you've had it for a while, and you're on daily suppressive meds. Transmission could still happen, but the risk is not high, besides which he is willing to take the risk, whatever it is. Since you've only just started dating, you should get him to test before no condoms.

I've only had it for three years, but from experience, my partner of two years has never contracted it, we have never used protection, and I've not always been on supressive meds. (Hes aware of my condition and the risk involved)
