Can anyone help? I'm desperate!

I'm 31 and am trying to conceive my first child. I have been battling extremely heavy periods (flooding after 20 minutes even with super plus tampons) and chronic back and period pain for the last 3 years. I am literally bedridden for 3 days a month and despite being prescribed very strong painkillers, the pain has got so bad before I've had to go to A&E to have shots of morphine. Despite scans, hormone treatment and an investigative operation, I have been given no real answers. I was told I have 3 fibroids (biggest is around 5cm), endometrial hyperplasia and suspected endometriosis. I have seen numerous doctors and a consultant and because I want to have a baby I've basically been told there is nothing they can do! It's seriously depressing me and affecting my marriage and career. We've been trying for a year and I'm worried that I may not be able to conceive due to these conditions but I have not been told this by any medical practitioner.  Does anyone else suffer from all 3 conditions and have any idea what treatments would be relevant to me? I'm desperate and don't want a hysterectomy but fear this may be my only cure. I would just like some answer.

So Sorry to hear of your problems.. It appears that maybe you may not be able to concieve from what you have said? Never say Never... Medics have little hope ?.. You can get pregnant and go full term with Fibroids, I did. But the endometriosis is the issue, unless the lining of your womb can be cleared and cleaned by giving you D& C type  scrape then it could be possible, but very tenuous. Maybe you should chat with someone like an IVF Specialist they maybe able to advise you for sure what your real options are. Doctor's are not very forthcoming these days sadly whether its because they dont want to upset you, or they just dont have enough knowledge. Do some research Online yourself.. or phone the IVF Clinic.

Do something realistic about it ..dont dwell on it. you need answers..

Sorry you are feeling these pains dont take Aspirin based analgesics as they will make you bleed more ..I know the cramps can be awful and the clots I had this... Worse case scenario you may be advised to have an Abdominal Hysterectomy ..get the Ovaries checked before they remove the womb. ..if they are okay ask them to leave them in.. helps with hormones. Healthwise it would be for the best to give you a quality of life.. If you really want a baby then it maybe a surrogate is needed. use your eggs..

Best of luck, let me know what you think?

Thank you for your reply. I'm  to going to contact a specialist in this field through private healthcare as the NHS don't seem to give me any answers. we're going to try for a family for another 3 months and then look into fertility treatment and if all else fails, surrogacy or adoption. I asked my GP about the possibility of having a myomectomy but was informed that this could damage my womb and affect fertility. D&C  has not been mentioned so I will ask the specailist about this also.

Im glad your hysterectomy was successful and that you no longer have these hideous symptoms.

Its nice to know i'm not alone on this front. However, I feel more awareness should be made about fibriods as so many women I know have never heard of them yet they are very common.

will contnue to try to remain positive smile

Yes to remain Positve is the way fwd..Try and get as much information as you can and ask questions..lots of Medics not just one D&C is what woman used to have post a miscarriage years ago ..but seems to have been stopped.. Dilatation & Currettage.

      see link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dilation_and_curettage

Depends entirely on your situation and advancement of Symptoms. Good Luck ..look after yourself.. Hope you manage to be successful and become pregnant... If you do  rest and strict diet and gentle exercise.. Lots of reading to do.

Someone young in your Family a sister of similar blood type can have your fertilized eggs implanted. If all else fails. Will cost though! I had an Abdominal Hysterectomy left my Ovaries in and the Menopause was not too bad now 57 its over ..Mainly left me with Anxiety/Panics at times. but no Bloating and no dragging pain as before, and the scar is healed well on the bikini line.
