I've had acid reflux problems for almost a year but lately I'm always being nauseous and I feel like something is stuck in my right throat. I'm feeling this all the time, even when I wake up, when I eat, before I go to sleep, etc..

My acid reflux decresed from how it started so I'm having less acid reflux but I don't know if this problem is related.

I'm going to an ENT Doctor (Ear,Nose and Throat Doctor) as to check what's wrong with what i'm feeling in my right throat, but I believe that my nauseous is related to what I'm feeling.

If he doesn't find anything, I will go to a specialised doctor regarding acid reflux.

Hey all just to lett you know I went to my gastroenterologist and I told him that I'm scared to do the endoscopy so I have an appointment to do an x-ray as to check, if all comes good he will give me medication for bacteria.

It's a pity you didn't bite the bullet and have the Endoscopy. It's unpleasant but sedation helps. I didn't want sedation so that was a bit more uncomfortable. And yet you are not scared of X Rays ?

X rays will indicate the condition of your Eosophagus and Stomach. They will not indicate the presence of the H.pylori bacterium.

Only an Endoscopy or , more frequently, one of the three possible tests will do that.

Yes but we're sure that what's causing the problem is the acid reflux so were going to see if there is something wrong with the Eosophagus and Stomach via the x-ray. If they will come out good than I have to take medication for the bacteria cause that would be causing the problem

I accept what you say about the X ray.

But I cannot accept your logic about the bacteria. You cannot say that you've got something when you don't know. I have never heard of anyone taking anti bacterial Eradication Therapy without knowing whether or not they've got the bacterium

Eosophagitis is just as often caused by a Hiatus Hernia.

Just to let you know I suffer with severe anxiety and I was petrified of the endoscopy.. So much so that I cried right up until I was in the room and having the sedation. I can promise you it isn't as bad as some people say.. That was with me struggling and crying as well. I know these tests are scary but it is the only way to really see what's going on inside. The whole thing was genuinely over within 3 minutes for me and afterwards I just had a little bit of a sore throat. Try your hardest to do it! The nurses are used to people being very uncomfortable about it X

Well you don't need to do the Endoscopy to ascertain th presence of H.pylori.

A simple breath test gives very accurate results.

The problem to my acid reflux could be because of my anxiety, for instance when i have an interview or a test I get a lot of acid reflux and feel like i need to vomit and panic alot. I don't know what i'm going to do now as next month I have my car test and I just panic alot and can't control it

      Hello patjj1234,

I have been following your thread and thought I would just add that I had an endoscopy under sedation and it was no problem at all. I did not feel anything.

Like you I think that my own anxiety is contributing, in part, to my acid reflux.  I am trying to live in the moment and not worry about the future. Wishing you all the best.

Hi all. I've had the barium swallow test yesterday and good newsbis that I dont have any leakages or blockages but I acid reflux was shown in the xray. Now i have an appointment with my doctor to tell me exactly the results. Will he give me something to control the acid reflux since I've been feeling nauseous all day for 4 months now.

    Thank you
