I had cateract surgery on my left eye a year ago. Now my eye feels scratchy and tired also slightly blurry. Eye doc said I had a slight secondary cateract in it. He said that it did not qualify for the yag procedure to remove. Had anyone else had this problem?

This isn't really an answer, but you brought up a good question to see if this is the case for anyone else: My doc does the YAG as a routine follow-up about 4 months after the surgery. She says that it's a one-shot deal and then you never have to worry about it in the future. It's not required and you can have it done at that point or a year later or even never, if you prefer (assuming the eyes cooperate). Hubby just had it done (4 months point) and all is well. I'm going to do the same since I take the philosophy of "anything that will keep my vision is worth it." It seems rather odd to me that you're having problems but your doc says that it doesn't qualify. The fact that you're eye is irritated seems to be a need for something to be done.
If it continues and you don't like the doc's answers, then get a second opinion, if possible. Your eyes are too precious to wait.

Also, just in case one has to replace the IOL for any reason, it becomes very difficult to do so if one has had YAG procedure.

I am impressed with Dra Claudia's all inclusive one-shot deal that works out well in your husband's case. However, I tend to lean to at201's POV especially you are much younger. Perhaps waiting a year later in your case, and still within the time frame offered by your doc.
