Celexa

I was put on 20mg celexa about a week now, and my symptoms are so much worse, I am feeling so tired during the day, and I feel nauseus, I don't have much of an appetite.  was wondering if I should call my Dr to see if he can drop the dosage some.  This is just an awful feeling, and a week before my finals!  How long does it take to get used to it?

It does get worse before it gets better xx.  The side effects usually last 2-4 weeks?  It's worth sticking it out as the meds will really help you.

It's ok! You're supposed to feel worse before you feel better.  But yes see a doctor and tell them how you feel.  Talking really helps.  Alas you are not alone there is a good reason why there are Anti-stress dot to dots for adults and colouring books everywhere.  I'm on citalopram and I was told that I would probably feel worse (even worse) for a few weeks then I'd feel better.  I've been taking Citalopram for a long time now and they've really helped me.  You are on a low dose, from my personal experience of other anti-depressants it all takes time.  I know of other people as well as my self who go on anti-depressants for a while then feel better and gradually go off them by lowing the dose which you have to be really careful about and definitely have to do a Doctor.  Give yourself time, do what you like doing.  If you want to lie in be that's fine.  Listen to your body.  I really hope you'll feel better well less nauseus.  Eat delicious food little and often, sleep is magic.  It is different for everybody.  What triggers everything? I can have migraines just from a change of light, I hate electric lights.  Hang in there.  Just keep telling yourself it's a phase and that it will pass.  I'm not you so I have just told you what I believe to be true from what I and some people I know have been through.  I wish you all the best.

    Hugs,

    A fellow sufferer.

My side effects lasted two weeks. I got anti nausea pills which helped. Keep on it. If u drop dosage you'll still have the same issue later if u increase.

I believe I just ahave anxiety and not depression, Im not even sure why they put me on the celexa, he wasn't a phsychiatrist.  I told them I needed help getting through exams and finals the last few weeks of school.  I truly believe the celexa has made me feel so much worse, so they sent an RX in for 10mg, and I don;t even know if i wanna take it.  My exam is friday.  My final is this tuesday, and if Im sick for any of those two I fail.  What would you guys do?
