miss piggy - one thing this drug tries to do is level out your emotions which often leaves you feeling 'numb'. give yourself more time to get the drug into ur system more and you shld start to feel better than right now as your going through the worse stage with flu. I didnt actually eat more i totally lost my appitite thru the sickness feeling and iv lost a stone since taking flu and only just got my eating pattern back 6 weeks later but its nt the same as it was. i hope my post helps a wee bit chin up ok and keep going x

miss piggy, i'm only on day 5, been ok, I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones!! If you can call it that not really felt sick? If anything eating more through boredom, I'm a comfort eater anyway! I wanted to cry at anything a couple of days ago, then I had a totally numb day it's really difficult to explain keep at it. Maybe I have the sickness and sweats to come?? Aggghh hope not, I've had racing heart thats all. xx

Miss Piggy. I started eating again about week 5. I did loose a stone now, ten months in i've put on 1/2 a stone and love my food again. Didn't think at the beginning of taking flu that i ever would. I also used to wake up sweating, i'd go to bed freezing, wake up boiling, just didn't make sense. I'm sure you'll be able to eat more soon. Everything will go, even the numbness, most of the time.

    Good luck

    Hi Miss Piggy

I managed to pass on the itchy stage but the distant feeling i definately had (felt like i was hollowed out) difficult to explain i agree. Numb, yep again.

I felt alone but not lonely. That was until i found this site which has been a megaboost as everyone is in the same boat but at different stages, plus they, like me, really care.

Am at week 6 and a bit. Mornings always seem to be the worst time, most people on this site say that. Maybe it takes a while for the chemicals in the brain to wake up after being in standby mode during your sleep.

When you get to my stage emotions should level out, as Nikki B says. Think she has been on flu for about the same time as me.

Find i still get numb days now. Appetite for me dropped through the floor but is improving now.

The feeling of 'can't be a*sed' is also a sympton of depression. Everything is just too much effort. That will hopefully ease with time.

Keep posting whenever you are down (or up), share your experiences, we are all here to help and encourage. smile

    Take care

Hi Miss Piggy totally agree with everthing MP said as we are both at the same stage of our flu which is nice to know as i can bounce my feeling of you and vice versa. I didnt have the itchy thing but def has the cant be arsed getting up when the alarm goes off even though you have been awak all night trying to sleep. I had a real bad week off being awake till after 5am everyday and up again at 8am i felt like a zombie but i still cldnt sleep which baffled me. I did take some sleeping tablets but they only lasted for a couple of hrs and i was back awake again. How ru feeling now? x
