Ive been suffering from recurring Balanitis and a lot of what ive read suggests Chlamydia or gonorrhoea as the culprit. ive had four separate urine tests over the past year and a half (including tests for other stis) all of which have come back negative, so i guess my question is should i be looking elsewhere for the cause as its constantly on my mind?
Any useful advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi, I think you can safely rule out std at this point. How do you treat tour balanitis (antifungal? Topical steroid?) Allergies can be a cause. Diabetes too or sugary diet.
Have you seen a dermatologist for a professional opinion?

Thanks for the response, ive tried Clotrimazole and Timodine creams. Both take away the redness but i always seem to have some lingering redness. My doctor has said balanitis can be difficult to diagnose when he gave me the timodine cream but i haven't been back yet.
Ive been under a lot of stress at work over the last couple of years and wondering if that could be contributing?

Hi, yes stress is a possible cause. If the cream helped, it's most probably yeast. Make sure to use only unperfumed gentle soap like Cetophile or Dove Sensitive. You can apply coconut oil after showering, it has antifungal properties. Make sure to wash your sheets and clothing on a regular basis. Wear loose underwear. You can try probiotics (it will be effective after a few months). Lower your consumption of sugar, dairy and gluten. The changes my sound annoying but they are all good habits to prevent yeast. If it doesn't resolve then maybe ask for a second professional opinion.
