Christmas eve, whos taking a sleeping pill tonight?

Posted , 4 users are following.

Christmas eve, and as with every other night I have to take a zopiclone to sleep.

I wish I didn't, 10 years on them now, I'm 33 - started when I was 23 and it's robbed me of my life, well actually insomnia robbed me of life.

Zopiclone saved me.

But I hate what I've become.

Anyone else in the same boat tonight?

Anyone else going to feel groggy tomorrow morning?

    Hi there🙂

the answer to that is yes me!

not just the Zopiclone venaflaxine and Mirtazapine. It helps the Zopiclone but not all night for me.

i completely understand the groggy feeling it wears off after a while with me.

    look they help you.

Please don’t hate what “you’ve become” you suffer insomnia you have a tool to help.

though yes I can’t sleep it’s been 7 years on Zopiclone though not every night.

bless you don’t feel bad. It’s not a nice feeling to rely on these things but mabe in time you will find a way of a better night.

    Be Kind To YOURSELF.

remember the drs put you on this medicine you wouldn’t sleep unless you had them.

Being deprived of sleep is a horrible thing that’s the alternative I think of it as.

    take care

I have to take clobazam for epilepsy so I empathise with you.

?Can you try to change your sleeping routine/pattern in any way? Even making mall changes can make a difference.

?Benzos can  cause insomnia and suppress the production of endorphins in the brain . Endorphins are the body's natural pain killers and anti depressants.

try not to worry. Perhaps your dr can suggest a regime to reduce the sedation and then your body can learn not to rely on it.

    Take care.

    Happy Christmas.

    Hi again

I have sent you a link to the National sleep Foundation that may help you with insomnia problems without taking drugs. Unfortuntely stopping benzos is a slow job but well worth it.

Oh Zopiclone. You start with one and with me ended up on 10 taking through out the day. It's a nasty sleeping tablet! Run away from it. I am 1.5 weeks off the stuff. Need prayers as it's hard not to turn back. Run run run!!

Actually now that I think about it I started about 7 years ago. Please don't do this but I discovered that taking them during the day I felt .ca, on my pink cloud. My psychiatrist won't prescribe them to me as I developed a problem. But like a junkie I made a plan going to 3 different doctors telling them I need 2 a day. Yip I turned out a proper addict to prescription meds. sad but (not sure of your Faith) but by the grace of God I a off them now.
