Hi all, read some brilliant advice on here but now I'm probably going to confuse everyone...lol, my symptoms are, severe stomach pain after eating, lost 2 stone in weight since pains started in June this year, I have regular bowel movements that are normal but with some bits of white mucus!

i have had, X-rays, ultrasound (which showed thickening loop of the small bowel) 2 colonoscopies don't know the first result but second time showed "normal"

Doctor said I had Chrons but dr who did 2nd one said I didn't.

Really confused I have tried different food and it's any food that brings on the pain, my g.p has now put me on liquid morphine because of the severity of pain, anyone else have these symptoms????

Any advice would be most welcome because I am at my wits end!!!!

Thanks. Dawn.xx

It's hard to say since chrons, ibs, and colitis all have similar symptoms. I have chrons with diarrhea but some people have chrons with constipation. I have all the other symptoms you have. Severe weight loss and pain after eating.

Get your gp to do a fc stool test for inflammation, and see if you can get an mre.

I had loop with bowel obstruction.

    Good luck

It's best to get a second, third, and fourth opinion when your having the symptoms your having since those symptoms are associated with so many other diseases.

    Hi Dawn

Just wanted to say that the colonoscopies only look at the colon/large bowel and from what you said the problem is actually in the small bowel. I've had similar difficulties in the early days of diagnosis when the site of the problem isn't examined properly.  A small bowel MRI should be done really to check out that loop.

Keep going, don't let them fob you off. It's so important to get the right treatment early on.

Also, morphine addiction is a serious problem....... I know you have severe pain, and that is why it's vital to get a diagnosis.

I wish you the best of luck

Thanks guys, they tried doing biopsy of small bowel but apparently he couldn't get to it, I just want to know what's happening to me, I love my food but now have to literally force feed myself, I only take the morphine when I am in serious pain and only just before bedtime, I hate taking any kind of medication but sometimes needs must.

must say though it's the best diet I've ever tried!!!!!

regular bowel movements with white mucus is anything but normal for a start and whilst I agree in most part with indie hanagh  I would just question a little if the mucus would occur in stool samples if the problem ie infection in the bowel was confined to the small intestine .  however I'm not a consultant or specialist but I do fervently agree with her in that you must pursue the issue and be very very careful with the medicine ie. cortisone . which is at the very top end of pain killers and used a lot with very severely ill patients  I just wonde if you gp is a little over givvish on this issue as there are numerous other pain and condition treatments for our ailment . and also irritable bowel . and diverticulitus and combined often in chrons . chorns is a condtion  sequence to describe when these conditions affect both the large and small intestine
