Chronic and Severe Heal Pain after Bunion Operation

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi there so glad i have found this Forum..To start at the beginning I had a operation for Right Foot Bunion and Hammer Toe both on Right Foot on the 23rd June 2014..Recovered and Healed very quickly little or no pain. But still in a Air Cast Walker until at least the end of August, due to Ostepeona around the Screw,. now this isn't a problem or wasn't, until I developed Plantar Fasciitis in my Right Foot, extremely painful and the Boot makes it worse, so have been wearing well supporting trainers in the home. (not venturing outside at all apart from garden). I have a an appointment back at the hospital in Podiatry tomorrow earlier than normal as i need to know why this has developed..any clues here anyone?

thank you ..

    hi dottie,

possibly because of the immobilisation of the foot, the muscles weakened causing the plantar fasciitus. I hope they find an answer for you soon.

Hello everyone just a quick update now...16 weeks post operation. plantar fasciitus all but gone thank goodness. have been back to hospital 6 times and had 6 x-rays...screws are working their way out and sometime in August a crack appeared in the bone around the screw site...so back again in December another x-ray, and  then date decided for removal of screws..actual operation site(s) pretty much okay...But have developed a chronic pain along side the inner part of both feet, but worse in the left foot (which I had operation on about 6 weeks ago)..my right is just about tolerable...Now walking with my left foot is becoming so painful I just do not know what to do..have tried every single pair of shoes, boots, sandals, and pumps nothing alleviates it when I start to walk. any suggestions anyone...?

Correction to above:-"which I had operation on about 6 weeks ago" should read 6 years ago..
