Low fat!!  Stay away from red meat!! There are 8 super foods for your pancreas, google it.  It’s a trail and error thing.  Everyone’s body reacts differently to food.  No alcohol or smoking.

    Wishing you the best.

    Dear Samrupees,

I am sorry that you have CP. I would find a gastroenterologist who specializes in CP and can work with your diabetes specialist. I have had CP for 14 years since I became pregnant at 34 and later found I had a birth defect of the pancreas called a divisum. My daughter is almost 14 and healthy, thank God. You can live your entire life with CP. CP does not mean that you will get pancreatic cancer. Please find a good pain doctor so you aren't suffering needlessly. I can't eat spicy foods, fatty foods and of course no smoking or alcohol. I had multiple ERCPs to widen my one working pancreatic duct, but the ERCPs can cause a pancreatic attack, so that is a catch 22. I finally had the big Whipple surgery in December of 2016 because I could not take the pain and pain medications including a Fentanyl patch of 150mcg was not working. The pain is much less, but the surgery took almost a year to recover from and I now have the complications of poor absorption due to dumping syndrome and am 5'1" and weigh 90 pounds. So, the Whipple is not a surgery to be taken lightly. Good luck.
