Hi my friends!

I just want to say thank you all for this roller coaster journey on this med. I could not have done this without you all. I’m doing good. I’m really almost back to myself.

I have to add I’m very glad I did not up my dosage. I hung in there and was patient.  “thank you Lois and katecogs” Ben you are my buddy and Michelle enjoy your travels and thank you. I’m sorry if I’m leaving someone out. I started with10mg and went down to 5mg then back to 10mg and I’m staying here. I wish I found this drug earlier. The side affects are not pretty they come and go. But the outcome is awesome. I just wish everyone success. I’m here for help and suggestions.

Thank you for that encouraging message, it gives much hope to those of us who are nearly there but not quite and those of us still struggling, to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

    Well done you

I just started my 3rd week on citalopram and was just curious as to what some of your side effects were in the beginning and what you still occasionally feel??

      Hi Goldfish,

What dose are you on? The beginning was horrific for me. I had the sweats and then cold and trembling. Dizzy panic attackes 3-5x a day.  I kept a journal which was suggested to me  from Mark89813 and I really credit him for that. Looking back I see wow I’ve come along way in 18 weeks. Don’t forget I was suffering a good year before starting the med. I also had and still have dry mouth. I also developed teeth pain and facial pain the past month but it comes and goes and I’m fine with it. I learned how to deal with it and accept it.

I’ve worked all the way through this and I have a high stress job with employees to manage. I hid this very well on the outside. I know that didn’t help me at all. I should have taken off but I chose not to. I also had numbness and tingling in my fingers and left arm. The side effects were crazy. Just when one finished another swept in. Goldfish you can always ask for help guidance and any questions. So many great people here.

Hi Will, I’m so glad that you’re feeling good again. I’ve had a rocky twelve weeks but one week in on 30mg I’m starting to feel much better. I’m still taking zoplicone to help me sleep but I’m hoping to come off it in a few weeks which I’m nervous about as my night anxiety was crazy, but the doctor has waited for me to settle down a bit before removing it. I now only get a bit of morning anxiety and I’m managing my days much better. I couldn’t have got this far without you all on here so thank you for the support everyone x

It s so good to hear from you. Thanks for your update and good news. I feel the same way. I’m on this forum every day which really helps me. There are great people in this world. I’ve noticed that when I take my pill with water only I get some anxiety. I now take it with my breakfast and I’m better. Just a thought for you. Keep me posted of how you are progressing. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏼👍🏼😇😇😇

Yes over the twelve weeks when I was struggling I wasn’t eating properly because of the anxiety, a friend said to me that medication doesn’t work well on an empty stomach. So in all honesty once I had something in my stomach especially when I’ve taken the medication, I do feel like I’m feeling better for it. Yesterday and today I’ve woken around 4 or 5 am and felt afraid and shakey but I’m trying to tell myself that there will be blips along the way and I think it’s because I’m afraid of not taking the zoplicone anymore in a few weeks when the doctor withdraws it.
