Citalopram 9 week review.

I've been taking the Citalopram for about 9 weeks now, and I have to say it was a bumpy road I didn't so much have side effects but did have some increase in anxiety, depression, ocd, dp dr symptoms for the first 6 weeks or so but now that I've hit the 9 weeks I have to say it must be helping. I just finished a nasty bout of the stomach flu which nausea, headache, dizziness are some of my anxiety and panic triggers and I made it through it just fine! I know that before taking this I would have been a real mess if I had gotten it then. This was a definite sign that it is helping so far. I know I still have a ways to go but things like this do help to give you hope, which is what we are all looking for. Also the days have been getting just a little bit brighter, and things are starting to feel better, not a lot yet but enough to show me that I'm getting back to feeling like myself.

Just though I'd share for anyone searching for encouraging words from someone going through all this and taking citalopram for it.

Glad you're feeling better Grounded. Stomach virus is awful for sure. I too am in week 9 and feel much better. Im currently tapering from 20mg to 10mg due to some unwanted side effects. But yeah it has definitely helped me cope better. I'm hoping to eventually wean off completely, but its very important to recover first. I find myself being tired all the time. I run a mile on the treadmill daily and it helps more than anything. Try to include exercise in your daily plans and you'll really feel improvement quickly.
