Citalopram

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've been taking citalopram for almost three weeks. aside from the anticipated side effects - sweats, headaches and disturbed sleep - am having major problems with my concentration. i can't seem to focus on anything and it's getting me down..as ironic as it sounds. has anyone else experienced this and how did you deal with it?

Thanks for your words of support. It's all been a bit odd, but then reading other people's postings, it seems like it's not that uncommon. It just leaves you feeling a bit helpless really and a bit like you're swimming against the tide. I look forward to the day when i wake up and actually have some energy and getting through the day isn't quite such an uphill slog, or when the people around me don't think i'm faking it.

Hi Howard, I too have recently started the same tablets at 40mg, I have had all the symptoms you have described and started to feel worse than before I started them. All I can say is persevere with them as things will settle down.

Thanks. I feel like i'm slowly beginning to feel better - you just feel so stupid being unable to do what feel like they should be simple things and just feeling crap all the time when you're supposed to be feeling better. i am going to persevere. am seeing the doctor again tomorrow for a check up so, fingers crossed. Take care yourself!
