Hi, when Citalopram gets into your system it really does work. I have been on it for years.  The only problem I have encountered is when I decided to take myself off it, then went back on recently.   Hope you feel better soon.

I have been on and off cip for 14years and recently I was on it for 12months then went off them for 10mths I was hoping I would be ok. Then bang end of the year I am feeling like this. I think I may stay on them for awhile this time. I am also doing hypnotherapy.

Hi. Sorry to hear you not feeling on top of things. Having young children can be very hard but you and they need to get out in tge fresh air even if only for a short time each day. Citalapram does work but the initial side effects are sometimes hard but for me it was just a couple of weeks. I just tried to keep busy which is probably easy for you with three little ones and Christmas nearly here. Do lots of crafts with them making decorations etc that will help tge days pass. I do hope you will soon feel loads better. If you are in uk have you heard of the wellbeing service. You can refer yourself and they will help you. Look them up. Take care and stay strong. This will pass. Lesley

Hi Ladyscarrington we are all different and I have only been on Citalopram which for the first 5 days was awful worse panic and anxiety but was well worth it as now I'm much better and can cope with my 3 year old a lot more. I'm on my own but I'm lucky I have friends and a good family. Maybe when your feeling a little better you could check on google for mother and toddler groups to meet people I done that when my son was younger

Stick with it I know heaps of people say that. I am on 10mg day 9 and the first few days are terrible. I still have anixety in the morning and like debbienand lesley said keep busy its makes the day go by. If you get a chance have a look at russell harris on you tube. He talks about ACT therapy which is about acceptance of the feelings and thoughts.

Your story sounds familiar , I was prescribed 20mg cit back in July for anxiety& depression I got to the stage like you where I was stuck under a quilt on the sofa & couldn't face work friends or family. After taking the cit I got worse for the first ten days , it was horrendous but things settled down but never felt like I was recovering & the mornings were unbearable the side effects were still evident after three months so I reduced to 10mg & felt brilliant after 24hrs I've halved the dose again & will be stopping altogether at the end of the year. I'm convinced though not pleasant the 20mg fixed some thing in my head. Hope it works for you
