I have have had anxiety and depression for as long as i can remember stemming way back from when i was a child. After the birth of my third child i got very bad post natal depression which i suffered a break down. I then went of the rails a bit and suffered even more heartache and failed reationships my life spiraled out of control and i am at the stage i feel unable to cope. I have a high powered job which i have now had to give up but still have my foot in the door. Citalopram was prescribed an i am trying to persevere with them. I have never properly taken an anti depressant before. My symtoms include, hightened anxiety, restslessness, cold tingling sensation down my arms, no appetite, shaking but its only day 3 and i was willing to give it a go as felt so low lost the will to live at one point. I am hopeing these efeects start to subside and i will feel better soon its not a nice feeling but hopefully the benefits will be worth while. I am on 20mg but did think about reducing the dose??? opinions appreciated...x

I had very bad anxiety and depression about 3 years ago. Was prescribed 20mg of Citalopram a day and it does get a bit worse before it gets a whole lot better i can assure you. To get myself motervated i had a routine of get up, shower, try to eat something and push yourself to get out, even for a short while. After 3 to 4 weeks the change back to normality began and every day i got better and better. I stuck with the tablets for about a year, put a little weight on, but back to my old happy self. I finished taking them about a year ago now and havent looked back, lost the weight and now live the life i had before my illness.
All i can say is KEEP TAKING THE TABLETS !!!!
Dont lose heart, it will all come good, keep motivated, try to eat well, i even went to Yoga classes which were a great help, use breathing excersizes too, your gonna get there remember that.

Those feelings are not very nice and hope they will go away pretty soon as I want to stick to the tabs but don't like the side effects
Hoping for a better feeling for everyone ❤️
