I've posted on here a few weeks ago about my swallowing anxiety,I started on 10mg citolopram for a week,I then went to 20mg for 4 weeks, now I'm on my second week of 30mg but there has been no improvement to my anxiety or the way my brain is controlling my ability to swallow naturally without thinking about it.i can't believe how much your brain controls things that are usually natural, and is making me so afraid of swallowing naturally,I've had enough of this controlling me

    Hi suek78,

If your having trouble swallowing, then using the citalopram liquid drops instead of tables would be a help? In terms of time, for the anxiety (not depression), it worked within 3 days for me!! amazing - at least in taking the worst of it away, and recent studies by some of the top universties have shown citalopram to work very quickly for anxiety. However, it did take about 5 months for the anxiety to properly disappear.
